Special Operations Instructions Program Support 

What you'll do

  • Manages the complete lifecycle of all SSO policy documents and official instructions, from initial drafting to final publication.
  • Assigns unique identifiers to each issuance. 
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for all correspondence management policies and procedures, ensuring 100% compliance with DoW and ASW (government) directives.
  • Develops and enforces a style guide to ensure consistency in language, formatting, and branding across all issuances.
  • Provides templates, style guides, and advice to authors to ensure consistency and compliance.   
  • Receives, reviews, and edits all submitted policy drafts for correct formatting, grammar, and adherence to established standards.
  • Coordinates the formal review and approval process ("staffing") of documents with all relevant directorates and stakeholders.
  • Prepares final document packages for signature and assume responsibility for publishing, distributing, and archiving all approved instructions.
  • Makes the finalized documents accessible through publication. 
  • Maintain the official digital repository of all ASW (government) policies, ensuring the library is up-to-date and accessible to all personnel.
  • Manages the storage and retention of both current and obsolete documents, in compliance with legal and organizational requirements. 

Qualifications

Required Skills / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Clearance:  Must possess an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Education:  Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience:  Minimum of 7 years of experience in administrative management, including direct experience with correspondence management and policy document processing within the DoD.
  • Process Knowledge:  In-depth knowledge of the DoD correspondence and records management programs, including familiarity with the official DoD Manual for Written Material.

 

Preferred Skills and Relevant Experience:

  • Education:  Master's degree.
  • Technical Proficiency:  Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SharePoint for document collaboration and repository management.
  • Experience: with Adobe Acrobat Pro for creating and editing official PDF documents.
  • Attention to Detail:  Exceptional organizational skills with a meticulous eye for detail, ensuring all documentation is prepared, routed, and archived in accordance with governing directives.
  • Interpersonal Skills:  Excellent communication and customer service skills to effectively coordinate with various staff directorates and external organizations.
  • SOF Familiarity:  Previous experience working within a Special Operations command or organization is highly preferred.
