About the role

Kaimetrix is seeking a Senior SQL Database Administrator to support enterprise database operations in a secure government environment. This role is responsible for administering, maintaining, and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server databases in production environments, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and data integrity for mission‑critical systems.

The Senior SQL Database Administrator provides technical leadership, applies industry best practices, and mentors junior personnel while supporting database modernization, security compliance, and operational reliability.

What you’ll do

  • Administer, support, and manage SQL Server databases in a production environment
  • Install, configure, and support Microsoft SQL Server in High Availability Group configurations
  • Develop and maintain T‑SQL scripts, including stored procedures, triggers, and views to automate database maintenance and operations
  • Monitor database performance, identify issues, and implement tuning and optimization recommendations
  • Plan, implement, and enforce database security measures to safeguard data against unauthorized access, modification, or disclosure in accordance with industry best practices and DISA STIGs
  • Lead and participate in technical teams, working both independently and collaboratively
  • Assign and review tasks, set priorities, track progress, and validate work products to ensure alignment with organizational goals and deadlines
  • Mentor junior personnel on proper database administration practices and procedures
  • Support documentation, configuration standards, and operational processes related to database services

Qualifications

  • Eight (8) years of experience in SQL database administration supporting and managing databases in a production environment
  • Five (5) years of experience installing, configuring, and supporting Microsoft SQL Server in High Availability Group configurations
  • Five (5) years of experience using T‑SQL, including writing scripts, stored procedures, triggers, and views
  • Three (3) years of experience serving as a team leader, working independently and as part of a team to assign and review tasks, set priorities, and maintain task progress
  • Three (3) years of experience mentoring junior personnel on proper practices and procedures
  • Three (3) years of experience planning and implementing database security measures in accordance with industry best practices and DISA STIGs

Security & Certification Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with SBI, with the ability to attain SI, TK, G, HCS, and NATO Secret access
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or SQL Server 2016 / SQL Database Administration certification
  • DoD 8140.03 IAT Level II / Intermediate certification
