Kona Brewing Hawaii

Marketing Manager (Oʻahu)

This role will work from home on Oʻahu and be available to travel for events and activations across the island and inter-island. The salary range for this role is $70-$75K per year.

Bring Liquid Aloha to Life

Kona Brewing Hawaiʻi is looking for a creative, strategic, and hands-on Marketing Manager to help shape what’s next for our locally brewed brands.

In this role, you’ll turn big ideas into memorable campaigns, meaningful partnerships, standout events, and consumer experiences that connect people to our beer—and to Hawaiʻi. From media and PR to retail programs, merchandise collaborations, sponsorships, and social content, you’ll play a central role in sharing our independent, Hawaiʻi-based story across the islands and beyond.

If you love building brands, know how to balance creative instinct with business results, and are energized by a fast-moving environment where no two days look alike, grab a pint-sized seat at the table.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead media planning and public-relations efforts that grow awareness and reinforce Kona Brewing Hawaiʻi’s locally brewed, independent story.
  • Develop and execute integrated retail marketing programs that inspire consumers and support sales across on- and off-premise accounts.
  • Own one of our largest annual marketing programs—from initial concept and planning through launch, execution, and results.
  • Lead strategy and execution for licensed merchandise, collaborations, and partnerships that extend the Kona Brewing Hawaiʻi brand beyond the beer aisle.
  • Build and manage sponsorships that strengthen community connections and put our brands in the middle of the moments people care about.
  • Lead social-media strategy, content planning, and performance measurement to build engagement and deliver meaningful business impact.
  • Partner closely with sales, product, design, and other cross-functional teams to keep campaigns aligned, connected, and distinctly Kona.
  • Manage assigned marketing budgets, monitor project spend, and raise flags early when plans need adjustment.
  • Keep multiple projects moving at once—bringing organization, follow-through, and clear communication to every deadline.
  • Attend occasional evening or weekend events, including concerts, sporting events, community activations, and other brand moments.

What You’ll Bring

  • Living full-time on Oʻahu and able to work from home and travel for work, frequently on the weekends and during the evening.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Finance, Communications, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience managing marketing or advertising programs; CPG experience is strongly preferred.
  • A sharp creative eye and a talent for turning brand stories into ideas people want to engage with.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate, influence, and build trust across teams and partners.
  • Curiosity about consumers, culture, trends, and what makes a brand stand out in a crowded market.
  • Confidence using data, financial insights, and market intelligence to evaluate performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • The ability to solve problems independently, reduce barriers, and turn a good idea into a well-executed plan.
  • Excellent project-management skills and a knack for prioritizing in a fast-paced, occasionally unpredictable environment.
  • Strong ownership, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.

What Success Looks Like

You’ll bring fresh ideas to the table while keeping the details moving behind the scenes. You’ll build campaigns and partnerships that feel authentic to Hawaiʻi, strengthen our connection with consumers and communities, and help drive real results for the business.

You’ll also receive regular feedback and support through monthly career one-on-ones with your manager, plus an annual performance review.

Work Environment

This role is based on Oʻahu and involves a mix of focused at-home desk work, collaborative planning, field activations, and event participation. You should be comfortable with frequent computer work, sustained attention to detail, occasional interruptions, and working independently when needed.

The role may require evening hours, longer days during peak campaign periods, and travel by car or plane. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
