We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Law Clerk to join our Workers Compensation practice, supporting our experienced solicitors and gaining exposure to a broad range of workers compensation matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for a law student who is passionate about personal injury law, eager to learn and keen to develop practical legal skills within a leading specialist firm.

Please note: This is a full-time position requiring availability to work 5 days per week.

About the role

Working within our Workers Compensation practice, you will provide day-to-day support to solicitors across the team, gaining valuable experience throughout the lifecycle of personal injury claims.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting solicitors with the management of workers compensation files
• Drafting correspondence and legal documentation
• Reviewing client files and obtaining information and instructions from clients
• Arranging medical appointments and managing client diaries
• Assisting with drafting client statements
• Preparing applications and documentation for the Personal Injury Commission
• Assisting with medical dispute submissions and correspondence
• Preparing letters of instruction to medical practitioners
• Liaising with clients, medical providers and other relevant parties
• General file management and administrative support

About you

We are looking for a law student who is keen to gain meaningful practical experience and build a long-term career in personal injury law.

To be successful, you will have:

• Some experience of working in a personal injury firm would be an advantage
• Availability to work 5 days per week
• A genuine interest in personal injury law, particularly workers compensation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Confidence communicating with clients in a professional and empathetic manner
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn

Previous legal administration, law clerk or paralegal experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.

Most importantly, you will be enthusiastic, reliable and committed to developing your legal skills in a supportive and fast-paced environment.
