Our diverse industry partnerships provide unique insights that keep businesses and governments at the forefront of emerging trends. That’s why LegitScript is trusted by the world's largest search engines, internet platforms, payment companies, and regulatory agencies.

Overview:

The Staff Product Engineer, Certification owns the technology behind LegitScript’s certification program: both the internal and external portals that merchants and advertisers use to apply for and manage their LegitScript certification, together with the Salesforce data model and automation beneath it. You own both halves of that platform: how it is built and what it should become.

You are the senior technical owner of a business-critical, externally facing platform that LegitScript is bringing in-house, with end-to-end responsibility for its architecture, its reliability, and the product decisions that shape the certification experience. The level reflects the ownership and judgment the role carries, not the size of a team you manage.

You will be directly assessing, directing, and collaborating on the remediation already underway, fixing what needs fixing, and putting the engineering practices in place that keep the platform healthy.

You shape the roadmap together with the Certification Innovation Manager and the Director of Certification Strategy. They own certification strategy, and you bring the engineering and user perspective into it: what is feasible, what the tradeoffs are, how to scope and sequence the work, and what the merchants and internal teams who depend on the platform actually need.

You influence through clarity and example, not decree. You measure success by whether the certification platform is more scalable, more maintainable, and better understood than you found it, and by whether the people who depend on it (the merchants pursuing certification and the internal teams who run the program) are better served because of the decisions you make.

What You'll Do:

  • Own the architecture, scalability, and reliability of the certification platform (the externally facing Experience Cloud portal and the Salesforce data model and automation beneath it), along with the interfaces it shares with LegitScript’s broader Sales and Operations CRM.
  • Own the quality and technical realization of the certification product experience: the journey merchants and advertisers take to apply for, achieve, and manage their certification. Bring the engineering and user perspective into what the platform should build next, shaping the roadmap in partnership with the people who own certification strategy.
  • Take ownership of the instance and the remediation already underway: assess the quality of the work delivered to date, close the gaps it leaves behind, and put the platform on a footing where LegitScript can operate and evolve it with confidence.
  • Work directly with the merchants and advertisers who use the portal, and with the internal Operations team that runs the certification program, to define scope, set priorities, and translate business needs into sound technical design, and push back on requests that buy short-term speed at the cost of long-term maintainability.
  • Shape certification direction together with the Certification Innovation Manager, the Director of Certification Strategy, and Sales and Revenue Operations, and turn the shared strategy into a technical roadmap you own and deliver.
  • Establish and enforce Salesforce engineering governance, including source-driven development, version control, CI/CD, release management across sandboxes, and a change-control and environment strategy that prevents the unmanaged changes that created our current technical debt.
  • Define architectural standards for when to solve declaratively (Flow and configuration) and when to solve programmatically (Apex and Lightning Web Components), so the platform is built consistently rather than case by case.
  • Lead modernization where it earns its cost, including evaluating the Aura-based certification portal against Lightning Web Runtime, while maintaining operational continuity for external users and internal teams.
  • Anticipate and resolve scaling constraints before they bite: governor limits, large data volumes, query and automation performance, the external-user sharing model, and Experience Cloud licensing as the certification program grows.
  • Own security and reliability for an externally facing portal, including external-user authentication and registration, the sharing and visibility model, and monitoring, alerting, and incident response as first-class concerns.
  • Design and own integrations between the certification platform and LegitScript’s broader CRM, APIs, and third-party systems, with clean and reliable interface contracts.
  • Foster improvements to the Certification Console and other internal Salesforce based tools.
  • Set the standard for code and configuration quality, testing, documentation, and review, and raise the bar for the engineers and partners who work in the org through clarity and example.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Bring:

  • Deep, hands-on Salesforce expertise across both configuration and code: data modeling, the security and sharing model, Flow, Apex, and Lightning Web Components.
  • Production experience building and operating Experience Cloud (formerly Community) sites for external users, including external-user license models and the sharing and performance considerations they carry.
  • Strong command of Salesforce platform limits and scaling techniques, including governor limits, large data volume strategies, asynchronous processing, and SOQL and automation optimization.
  • Source-driven development and release management: Salesforce DX, Git, CI/CD, and metadata deployment tooling such as Gearset, Copado, or equivalent, supported by a real sandbox and environment strategy.
  • Integration design across REST and SOAP APIs, platform events, and middleware patterns, with an emphasis on clean interface contracts between Salesforce and external systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to inherit an unfamiliar or poorly maintained org and make it materially better, with strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • A product mindset: comfort owning outcomes rather than tickets, shaping what gets built and not only how, and helping set priorities for an external-facing product in partnership with its strategy owners.
  • Experience working directly with users and business stakeholders to define scope, validate direction, and turn needs into a technical roadmap.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts and tradeoffs clearly to non-technical stakeholders across certification, operations, legal, and leadership.
  • Proven ability to influence without direct authority, and to set standards that other engineers and external partners follow.
  • Comfort operating in a period of change: taking ownership of an in-flight platform cleanly and establishing durable engineering practices from the ground up.
  • Familiarity with the current Salesforce platform direction, including the move from Aura to Lightning Web Runtime.
  • Relevant Salesforce certifications (for example, Platform Developer I or II, Experience Cloud Consultant, or Application or System Architect) are a plus rather than a requirement.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with substantial time building on the Salesforce platform using both declarative and programmatic (Apex and Lightning Web Components) approaches, and demonstrable time operating at a senior or staff level.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, delivering, and operating production Salesforce solutions at scale, including externally facing Experience Cloud sites.
  • Experience owning the technical health of a Salesforce org, including its governance and release practices.
  • A track record of shaping product or feature direction for an application you also built, influencing not just delivery but the decisions about what to deliver.
  • Experience outside of Salesforce in building services, APIs, and web applications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
