LOVB

Director of Ticket Sales - LOVB Austin

About LOVB (League One Volleyball):
League One Volleyball (LOVB) is reimagining women's sports. Launched in 2019, our company is a mission-led sports performance, training and media enterprise that will change the game of volleyball in the USA and empower new generations of female athletes.

It is a groundbreaking time for volleyball in the US with our historic triple Olympic Gold medals in Women's Indoor, Beach and Sitting Volleyball. Volleyball is already the #1 most played girls'  youth sport. There are 38M current and former players today. Of major sports, it's the only one that is women-first (~90% of players are female). But the volleyball market has been almost entirely missed by traditional sports investors, brands, and media.

LOVB is capturing this opportunity by creating a strong club business, and from that built-in audience and fandom, is creating the best Pro League in the world and a digital ecosystem that will  connect all aspects of LOVB. This community-up approach will drive participation and fandom, while enabling greater empowerment for girls and young women living this amazing sport. In  this role, you will join a mission-driven, roll-up-your-sleeves team of innovators and builders who have come together to change the paradigm of professional volleyball and women’s sports.

LOVB Austin - Director of Ticket Sales

Reports to: Vice President, Growth

Location: Austin, TX

Status: Full-time

Position Overview

League One Volleyball (LOVB) Austin is building its ticketing function from the ground up ahead of Season 3 (running Dec 2026-April 2027). We're looking for a Director of Ticket Sales to lead this build — someone who will hire and develop a sales team, set the strategy, and own ticketing revenue results for the organization. As one of the first hires on a lean & growing front office, you will build the ticket sales strategy, CRM, and reporting infrastructure, and hire and coach 1-2 Account Executives as revenue and headcount allow.

In the near term — while the sales team is still being built out — this role may also be expected to personally sell and service a limited book of business. As the team is hired and ramped, the expectation is for this position to shift its time toward leadership, strategy, and operational ownership rather than an ongoing personal sales quota.

You will report directly to the VP of Growth and be a foundational voice in shaping how LOVB Austin sells and services season memberships, group tickets, and premium inventory for Season 3 and beyond. This is an exciting opportunity for someone that wants to play a pivotal role in growing a new professional team from the ground up in one of the country’s most exciting sports markets!

Responsibilities

Personal Selling & Revenue Generation (near-term, transitional)

● During the initial build-out period, personally carry a limited book of business for season memberships, partial plans, group tickets, and premium/hospitality inventory to help generate revenue while the sales team is still being hired.

● Generate new business through outbound prospecting, cold calling, face-to-face and virtual meetings, stadium tours, and networking/community events throughout the Austin area.

● Negotiate and close deals on this limited account set, with an eye toward transitioning accounts to Account Executives as they're hired and ramped.

● Deliver a high level of customer service to ensure fan retention and a positive account experience at every touchpoint.

● Note: This is intended as a bridge responsibility, not a permanent expectation — as the sales team scales, personal selling should decrease in favor of leadership, strategy, and results ownership. Depending on staffing sequence, this responsibility may be reduced or eliminated if sales enablement/membership support is in place before this hire starts.

Team Building & Sales Leadership

● Recruit, hire, onboard, and coach 1-2 Account Executives as the ticketing function grows.

● Set individual and team sales targets aligned to LOVB Austin's revenue goals and track performance through regular reporting and pipeline reviews.

● Provide hands-on training on sales technique, CRM usage, and product/organizational knowledge for any sellers hired into the team.

● Model a high-energy, high-accountability sales culture from day one to shape what "how we sell" looks like at LOVB Austin.

Strategy & Systems

● Stand up and manage the CRM and sales reporting systems needed to track leads, pipeline, and account records.

● Develop the season membership, group, and premium sales strategy and pricing approach in partnership with the VP of Growth.

● Design and execute sales campaigns, promotions, and themed-night initiatives to drive both new sales and renewals.

● Own ticketing revenue forecasting and budget input, and report regularly on pipeline health and results to the VP of Growth and ownership group.

● Use sales data to identify trends, refine tactics, and improve conversion and retention rates over time.

Ticket Operations (initial oversight only)

● Oversee ticket operations in the near term — coordinating with H-E-B Center and league/venue partners on inventory, fulfillment, and day-of-event logistics — until dedicated ticket operations support is in place.

● Note: Ticket operations is a specialized, ongoing workload distinct from sales strategy; as volume and complexity grow, this is expected to become its own coordinator- or manager-level role reporting into this position rather than a permanent Director-level responsibility.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

● Partner closely with Marketing, Events, and Community/Social teams to align ticket sales campaigns with broader fan engagement and brand efforts.

● Represent ticketing in cross-functional planning as LOVB Austin builds out its full organizational structure ahead of Season 3.

Qualifications

● 6+ years of experience in ticket sales, including direct experience carrying and closing a personal sales goal.

● High-energy, self-motivated, and resilient, with a genuine passion for women's sports and building something new.

● Demonstrated experience leading, hiring, or mentoring sales talent — this role is a sales strategist and people leader first, with personal selling as a near-term bridge rather than the core long-term skill set being hired for.

● Proven relationship-building skills with the ability to engage corporate decision-makers and individual clients alike.

● Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort with ambiguity.

● Proficiency with CRM platforms and sales reporting tools.

● Strong organizational and time-management skills to balance a personal sales number with team-building and operational responsibilities.

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills across audiences from front-office leadership to corporate partners to season members.

● Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and event nights at HEB Center.
● Willingness to take on responsibilities outside job description as needed — this is an early-stage team where roles flex to what the business needs.

● Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
