Location: This is a US-based remote position, with candidates in the Tampa Bay area preferred.

  • Tampa-based employees may have the possibility of transitioning to a hybrid schedule in the future, requiring periodic onsite presence at our Tampa, FL location.

Job Summary

Lucayan Technology Solutions LLC is seeking a Junior Windows Application Administrator to provide overnight support for enterprise applications on a federal government IT program. You will monitor business-critical applications, respond to and resolve incidents, and restore service quickly when issues occur. This is a great opportunity to build hands-on experience in a DoD cloud and cybersecurity environment alongside a senior technical team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor enterprise applications, a public-facing website, and database alerts throughout the overnight shift
  • Respond to incidents promptly, notify stakeholders, and restore service within defined timelines
  • Troubleshoot, patch, and maintain Windows-hosted applications during scheduled maintenance windows
  • Apply security patches and STIG configurations and help remediate vulnerability scan findings
  • Provide first-line support for Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases and escalate as needed
  • Track incidents and outages in ServiceNow and help prepare after-action reports
  • Document overnight procedures and hand off open issues to the day team

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Security Clearance: minimum T3 required
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in IT or a related field, OR a current Microsoft certification
  • 2+ years of Windows Server and application administration or IT operations support
  • Experience with incident response, patching, and troubleshooting in a production environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and basic SQL
  • Ability to work a fixed overnight schedule (10:00 PM – 6:00 AM ET)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a DoD or federal IT environment (STIG, IAVM, ACAS)
  • Exposure to Oracle Database, Apache/Tomcat, Splunk, or MOVEit
  • Experience with ServiceNow or another ITIL-based ticketing system
  • Cloud platform experience (OCI, Azure, or AWS)


Certifications and Clearance

  • CompTIA Security+ CE (or equivalent DoD 8140 baseline certification) required at hire
  • Microsoft Windows Server certification required; must be obtained within 6 months of hire if not already held
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Tier 3 or Tier 5 background investigation and a Common Access Card (CAC); active investigation a plus
  • Completion of required DoD security awareness training within 30 days of start


Work Environment

  • Fully remote from a U.S. location using government-furnished equipment
  • Overnight shift requiring availability for the full shift and timely incident response
