Job Summary 

We are seeking a senior Database Administrator Lead to manage enterprise Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database environments for a federal government IT program. You will lead database administration activities, drive performance optimization and security compliance, oversee junior DBA staff, and ensure high availability of mission-critical data systems in a cloud-hosted environment.

Key Responsibilities 

●    Lead enterprise Oracle and SQL Server database administration in a federal IT environment

●    Architect, optimize, and maintain high-availability database configurations

●    Implement database security controls, access management, and data integrity enforcement

●    Manage backup/recovery operations with quarterly validation testing

●    Lead SQL tuning, data integration, and ETL/SSIS support activities

●    Develop and maintain contingency plans and business impact analyses for database systems

●    Support disaster recovery and continuity of operations exercises

●    Oversee junior DBA staff and provide technical mentorship

Required Qualifications 

●    U.S. Citizenship required

●    Active Secret or TS/SCI and/or ability to obtain; 

●    Bachelor's degree OR Oracle 19c/SQL Server certification OR 7+ years of senior DBA experience

●    Proven expertise in Oracle 19c+ and Microsoft SQL Server administration

●    Experience with high-availability database configurations (clustering, mirroring, replication)

●    Strong SQL tuning and performance optimization skills

Preferred Qualifications 

●    Oracle OCP/OCM or Microsoft SQL Server certification

●    Azure Database Administrator Associate

●    Cloud-hosted database experience (OCI, Azure, or AWS RDS)

●    Federal IT background with DoD data governance requirements

Certifications

●    Oracle or SQL Server certification preferred
