Position Overview

Netwrix is on a mission to help customers protect and secure their identity and data landscape through market-leading on-prem and SaaS products and integrated solutions. Netwrix Identity products provide leading identity security solutions to thousands of enterprise customers worldwide.

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer who will develop new features and capabilities for Netwrix Identity Recovery, our enterprise solution for backup and recovery of Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and Okta environments. The Staff Software Engineer will ensure scalable, secure, high-quality experiences for enterprise customers in both on-prem and SaaS environments.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technical leader to help shape the future of identity recovery. You will contribute to the advancement of Netwrix Identity Recovery and key technologies across the platform, with opportunities to integrate AI capabilities into our products and development process. Working closely with engineers and product leaders, you'll influence architectural direction, mentor engineers, and help deliver solutions that protect organizations worldwide against identity-based threats.

Your home base is the Netwrix Identity Recovery team. You will work within a shared engineering platform and technology stack, with opportunities to contribute to other products across the Netwrix ITDR portfolio — such as PingCastle, Threat Prevention, and Threat Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write high-quality code and design scalable backend services for on-prem and SaaS environments, setting examples of technical excellence for the team and supporting key decisions on architecture, scalability, and integration
  • Develop and maintain recovery capabilities for Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and Okta environments, ensuring broad identity coverage for enterprise customers
  • Integrate data and capabilities with Netwrix's cybersecurity product platform and other ITDR products
  • Contribute to the product's evolution toward SaaS and cloud deployment, including containerization and cloud-native service design
  • Promote and optimize the use of AI tools and capabilities to accelerate Netwrix product development
  • Utilize AI within Netwrix products to enable smarter recovery automation, anomaly identification, and predictive operations while ensuring accuracy
  • Partner with customers and customer-facing teams to triage and address issues, understand customer needs, and gather feedback on product features
  • Collaborate across functions with product management, platform and product teams, and engineering leadership to align technical direction with business needs
  • Mentor and support the growth of engineers while fostering a culture of innovation, security-first thinking, and technical excellence

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of software development experience with a focus on enterprise software
  • Experience designing and delivering on-prem at scale is a must.  SaaS software at scale is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with Windows systems programming and enterprise deployment patterns
  • Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring/observability

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem (.NET Core/.NET) — the primary managed language in this stack
  • Proficiency in  maintaining and extending C++ code – the primary language of the core Windows services in the Recovery product
  • Experience with Windows systems programming: services, IPC, and Windows security APIs
  • Solid understanding of Active Directory, Entra ID, Okta, or similar identity and directory systems
  • Strong knowledge of distributed systems, modular architectures, and service-oriented design
  • Experience with SQL Server or comparable relational databases
  • Proficiency in designing RESTful APIs and asynchronous communication patterns
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred), containerization, and infrastructure as code

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Proven ability to balance technical quality with business priorities and timelines
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex, ambiguous challenges
  • Experience mentoring or guiding engineers in technical growth

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with C++ on Windows, including COM, RPC, and Windows service development
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and the Microsoft Graph API, or Okta APIs
  • Experience with Azure services: Azure Identity, Azure Key Vault, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Container Instances
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for cloud and SaaS deployment
  • Familiarity with modern high-performance languages such as Go for cloud-native service development
  • Understanding of disaster recovery, BCDR product categories, or identity security (ITDR)
  • Familiarity with threat detection methodologies, SIEM concepts, and security frameworks
  • Contributions to open-source projects or involvement in technical communities
