About the role
You're a writer first. You know a subject inside out, whether that's games, film and TV, sport or your local scene, and you write about it in a way people want to read. Here, you'll do that with AI. We'll train you to use AI tools to research, draft and check faster, so you can spend your time on what matters most: the angle, the facts and the voice. No AI experience is needed. Curiosity is.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Write about subjects you know: news, guides, lists and features for sites covering gaming, entertainment, sport and local news.
- Work with AI tools: use them for research, structure and first drafts, and learn to get better results from them over time.
- Make every piece sound human: give each article a voice that fits its site and cut anything that reads like a machine wrote it.
- Check the facts: verify every claim, name, date and number before anything goes live.
- Follow each site's style guide: its voice, its rules and its best articles. Add to the guide when you settle something new.
- Shape the whole page: headlines, intros, headings and the elements that make a page useful.
- Keep a steady rhythm: several finished pieces a day once you're up to speed, to an agreed quality bar.
Requirements:
- Published writing you're proud of, in any format.
- Deep knowledge of at least one subject: games, film and TV, sport, or local news and culture.
- Excellent written English and a sharp editorial eye.
- A habit of checking facts, and the confidence to cut what you can't verify.
- Openness to working with AI: no experience needed. We'll show you how and help you get good at it.
Nice to have:
- Experience in games or entertainment journalism, or in a newsroom.
- Basic SEO: keywords, headings and internal links.
- A blog, newsletter or community you've written for.
Our Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary, and the opportunity to work with a talented and passionate team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
