Position Summary
The Purchasing and Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing the flow of materials, parts, and products throughout the organization. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring materials are available when needed, maintaining accurate inventory levels, supporting operational efficiency, and coordinating logistics activities that help Red E serve customers effectively.
This role works collaboratively across departments to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high-quality standard.
Key Responsibilities
• Source and procure parts, materials, and services while negotiating pricing, quality, and delivery terms with suppliers.
• Create, manage, and track purchase orders to ensure accuracy and timely fulfillment.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and resolve order, quality, or delivery issues as they arise.
• Monitor inventory levels and support inventory planning to prevent shortages and excess inventory.
• Analyze purchasing trends and historical data to support forecasting and operational planning.
• Coordinate with Sales, Warehouse, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Accounting teams to support business operations.
• Support receiving, shipping, and inventory control processes.
• Assist with inventory audits and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Help develop and improve purchasing, inventory, and logistics processes.
• Participate in ERP system usage and continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory and purchasing functions.
• Apply practical problem-solving skills to address daily operational challenges.
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high-quality standard.
• Maintain accurate and organized work practices.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.

Qualifications
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Three or more years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory, or logistics experience preferred.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, agriculture, or related industries preferred.
• Working knowledge of inventory management and purchasing systems.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other business software.
• Experience using ERP systems and accounting software preferred.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications, or fabrication-related information preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and work ethic.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to take initiative and adapt in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
• Valid driver's license.
