About the role
The Reporter Training Specialist- Testimony Capture is responsible for sourcing, onboarding, and training court reporters within the Testimony Capture department. This role helps design and maintain training programs, documentation, and quality standards to ensure reporters are fully prepared to deliver high-quality services. Works cross-functionally with Operations, Assignments, Production, and Customer Support to support reporter readiness, platform proficiency, and ongoing performance.
What you'll do
· Sources court reporters through approved recruiting platforms, including Rippling
· Conducts interviews, evaluates qualifications, and supports hiring decisions for reporters
· Manages onboarding process, including documentation, system access, and initial readiness checks
· Trains reporters on company processes, operational expectations, and quality standards
· Delivers training on Remote Legal platforms and related technology tools
· Creates, maintains, and updates training scenarios, guides, and reference materials
· Develops procedures and training documentation to support consistency and quality across reporting team
· Coordinates with Operations and Assignments to identify training needs and performance gaps
· Provides refresher training, updates, and process rollouts as procedures evolve
· Supports remediation and targeted retraining when quality or compliance issues are identified
· Maintains accurate training records and onboarding documentation for reporters
· Monitors training effectiveness and recommends improvements based on feedback and outcomes
· Ensures training aligns with legal, procedural, and company standards
· Develop, review, and update the quality rubric to ensure alignment with company standards
· Establish and enforce a consistent cadence for feedback
· Facilitate and lead regular quality calibration sessions
· Create and distribute detailed feedback based on quality reviews and audits
· Review markups and scorecards prepared by others for accuracy and consistency
· Maintains strict confidentiality of all company, client, and reporter information
· Recruits, onboards, trains, and oversees direct reports as assigned; provides coaching, guidance, and development
· Sets team priorities, allocates workload, and ensures coverage for onboarding, training delivery, and quality reviews
· Leads performance management activities for direct reports, including goal setting, ongoing feedback, documentation, and support for corrective action when needed
· Establishes repeatable team workflows, documentation standards, and knowledge-sharing routines to support consistent delivery and coverage
· Performs other duties as assigned

· Ability to clearly communicate processes and technical concepts

· Ability to manage multiple onboarding and training workflows simultaneously

· Problem-solving mindset with ability to adapt training to reporter needs
· Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop team members in a remote environment
· Comfort working in a fast-paced, remote environment
· Experience with court reporting workflows or legal proceedings preferred
· Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with multiple departments
Education and Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience).
· 2-5 years of professional experience, including:
o Experience in training, onboarding, operations, or related roles
o Experience in legal, court reporting, or related environments
Work Environment
· This is a primarily remote position performed from a home office or approved remote work location; limited travel may be required periodically for training, meetings, or other business needs.
· All work is conducted through secure, company-approved technology platforms via computer, phone, and video conferencing platforms.
· Reliable high-speed internet access and a private, secure workspace are required.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to work for extended periods at a computer workstation in a remote, home-based environment.
· Ability to perform repetitive motions, including frequent typing, keyboarding, and use of a mouse or other input devices.
· Ability to view computer screens, read digital documents, and analyze information for prolonged periods.
· Ability to occasionally adjust or move home office equipment weighing up to 10 pounds
· Some evening or weekend work may be required depending on client needs or emergency situations.
· Ability to travel to surrounding areas or states as needed.
