About the role

We're hiring our first Director, Demand Generation: a hands-on operator to build and run the engine that drives net-new pipeline and reactivates the leads already sitting in our funnel. This is a builder's seat, and you'll be judged on pipeline and revenue influenced rather than activity metrics. Our sale is technical and long-cycle. Deals routinely take many months and move through multiple stakeholders (data science, IT/data governance, and compliance) before landing with a commercial approver, and you'll turn that into a demand engine that keeps our BD team busy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own net-new demand generation across digital channels (email/marketing automation, paid social and search, webinars, and content) to build pipeline against enterprise accounts in regulated, data-sensitive industries: life sciences, healthcare, financial services, and adjacent data-heavy verticals.
  • Build and run account-based marketing programs against named enterprise accounts. Coordinate tightly with BD/sales on account selection, messaging, and multi-touch orchestration across the buying committee (technical champions, economic buyers, and compliance gatekeepers).
  • Own mid-funnel nurture: build the lifecycle programs, sequences, and triggers that keep marketing-qualified leads engaged and moving toward sales follow-up as they work through the funnel.
  • Use GenAI natively to scale campaign production, personalization, list building, and reporting, so a lean team can compete with much better-resourced competitors.
  • Partner with product marketing and content to translate positioning (our personas, solutions, and proof points) into campaigns, and with cloud and technology partners (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft, Oracle, NVIDIA) to run co-marketing and marketplace-driven demand programs.
  • Partner with the Director, Revenue Operations on funnel reporting and attribution (lead → MQL → SQL → SOL → customer), and use it to reallocate demand gen spend toward what's actually producing pipeline.
  • Track competitive share of voice and adjust positioning and campaigns as pure-play federated learning vendors, DIY/open-source approaches, and data-centralization or clean-room alternatives contest the same buyers.
  • Partner with the Director, Revenue Operations on the demand gen MarTech stack (HubSpot and adjacent tools), and drive the build-vs-buy calls on ABM, intent, and enrichment tooling within it.

Required Skills

  • At least 5 years of hands-on B2B demand generation experience, with a track record of measurable pipeline and revenue results in complex, long sales-cycle enterprise deals with multiple stakeholders.
  • Genuine, hands-on fluency with GenAI tools in your day-to-day marketing workflow: content, personalization, campaign ops, research. You should be able to speak concretely about how you use them in practice.
  • Comfort across multiple digital channels (email/marketing automation, paid social/search, webinars, digital ABM), and a willingness to do the work yourself.
  • Account-based marketing experience: strategy and hands-on execution, targeting enterprise buying committees.
  • A scrappy, self-sufficient bias to action. This is a team of one today, and you're comfortable being the builder as well as the strategist.
  • Comfort marketing to technical and risk-averse buyers (data science, IT/data platform, compliance/security); experience in regulated industries (healthcare, life sciences, financial services) is a strong plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Field marketing or event marketing experience. It's useful, but we don't expect it on day one; we plan to hire dedicated field marketing support once this seat has proven the model out.
  • Experience marketing to data, IT, or security personas in regulated industries, or against categories like federated learning, privacy-preserving computation, confidential computing, or data clean rooms.
  • Experience running co-marketing programs with cloud hyperscalers or through cloud marketplaces.
  • Familiarity with the cloud and data ecosystem our buyers and partners live in: AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, and data platforms like Databricks and Snowflake. Enough to speak credibly in content and campaigns, not to configure it yourself.

Location: Boston (Hybrid) preferred, or East Coast hours.
