About the role

We are looking for a sharp, highly motivated, and innately curious Legal Operations Specialist - Employment (Contract) to support our growing employment legal team on a contract basis. In this role, you will build efficient, scalable operations, with a strong focus on employment litigation, disputes, and investigations. You will be instrumental in managing and improving litigation workflows, including issuing legal holds, managing data collection through e-discovery platforms, and tracking employment disputes and claims. You will also contribute to broader employment legal operations and compliance initiatives. This role will report directly to the Assistant General Counsel - Employment, but will work closely with other employment counsel, litigation team members, and cross-functional stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is extremely detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can juggle competing priorities with ease. A resourceful and proactive problem-solver with strong judgment, exceptional organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset will excel in this role.

What you will do

  • Design, implement, and support legal operations infrastructure, with a focus on employment litigation, disputes, and investigation workflows.
  • Lead investigatory research for our most sensitive employment matters, connecting information across internal systems to uncover key facts and inform litigation strategy.
  • Coordinate internal employment litigation and discovery needs, including case management, legal hold issuance and tracking, data collection and processing, and document review and production.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders and outside counsel for active employment litigation, arbitrations, and agency charges, driving information gathering and follow-through.
  • Create and drive processes around employment legal compliance, including auditing key training and employment document execution and partnering with the legal and recruiting teams on other employment document needs.
  • Develop, implement, and continually improve employment legal operations policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Design and build systems that turn employment matter data into actionable insights, helping the team identify trends, anticipate risks, and prioritize resources

What you will need

  • 3–5+ years of experience in legal operations, litigation support, legal assistant, or paralegal roles, including experience supporting employment litigation or disputes. A combination of in-house technology company and law firm experience is preferred.
  • We welcome candidates who are earlier in their in-house careers and are eager to grow their legal operations experience in a fast-paced tech environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex litigation processes, including familiarity with e-discovery tools and case tracking platforms; experience with employment agency charges and arbitrations is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive employment matters and confidential information.
  • Team player who takes initiative and demonstrates curiosity about how our company and business work.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, self-starting, and comfortable working in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Sense of humor!

What would be nice to have

  • Experience supporting employment arbitrations, EEOC or state-agency charges, or wage-and-hour litigation.
  • A combination of law firm and in-house experience, particularly in a fast-paced technology company.
  • Experience building or improving matter trackers, intake processes, playbooks, dashboards, or other legal operations systems.
  • Experience conducting investigative research across HR, payroll, and collaboration systems.
  • Paralegal education or certification, subject to applicable requirements.
