Your role

The Solutions Engineer plays an important role in supporting Shiji's sales organization across the Americas region by serving as a commercial and technical partner throughout the sales process. Working closely with Sales Managers, this role leads the technical aspects of qualified sales opportunities, including operational and technical discovery, tailored product demonstrations, solution design, integration mapping, and proof of concept development.


The Solutions Engineer translates complex hospitality operations and customer requirements into clear, scalable technology solutions across Shiji's portfolio, including Daylight PMS, Infrasys POS, and ancillary products. By engaging directly with operational, technical, and executive stakeholders, this role helps advance sales opportunities by identifying customer requirements, designing appropriate solutions, addressing technical considerations, and ensuring that proposed solutions are accurate, feasible, and aligned with the customer’s business needs.


What You Will Do

  • Serve as the primary technical and solutions advisor on qualified sales opportunities.
  • Lead in-depth operational and technical discovery sessions to understand customer requirements, business priorities, operational dependencies, existing technology environments, and desired outcomes.
  • Design solutions across Shiji's portfolio by translating hotel and food and beverage operational requirements into clear PMS, POS, integration, hardware, security, infrastructure, and deployment requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver tailored product demonstrations and proof-of-concept solutions that connect Shiji's capabilities to customer needs, operational challenges, and business priorities.
  • Configure and maintain demonstration environments for complex and strategic sales opportunities, ensuring that demonstrations are accurate, relevant, and aligned with the proposed solution.
  • Partner with Sales Managers throughout the sales process to validate solution fit, address technical objections, challenge assumptions constructively, and establish technical alignment among customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Communicate complex operational, architectural, integration, security, and technical concepts clearly to hotel owners, operators, corporate executives, IT leaders, and C-level stakeholders.
  • Own the technical accuracy and quality of proposed solutions and RFP/RFI responses, engaging Product, Security, Legal, and other internal specialists as needed.
  • Document customer requirements, solution designs, technical assumptions, dependencies, risks, and agreed decisions throughout the sales process.
  • Identify and escalate solution gaps, technical risks, or requested commitments that require internal review before they are communicated or agreed to with a customer.
  • Develop repeatable sales enablement resources, including demo frameworks, reusable configurations, competitive positioning, technical objection handling, and product training.
  • Translate prospect requirements and recurring market needs into commercially relevant feedback for Product and Sales leadership, identifying gaps and opportunities that may impact win rates, customer value, or revenue.
  • Complete structured post-sale handoffs to PMO and Implementation teams, ensuring that customer requirements, solution decisions, architecture, and supporting documentation are accurately transferred.
  • Manage multiple opportunities, demonstration deadlines, and technical requests while maintaining strong responsiveness to the sales organization.
  • Represent Shiji at customer meetings, hotel visits, internal meetings, training sessions, industry events, and trade shows as needed.


What We Are Looking For (Required Qualifications)


  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in hospitality technology, including experience with hotel PMS and/or POS solutions through sales engineering, presales, implementation, technical consulting, hotel systems, or another relevant customer-facing or technical role.
  • Professional fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken, with the ability to effectively lead technical and commercial discussions, discovery sessions, product demonstrations and presentations.
  • Strong expertise in hotel Property Management Systems (PMS) and Point-of-Sale (POS) solutions, supported by a deep understanding of hotel and food and beverage operations, including guest journeys, reservations, front-office workflows, housekeeping, billing, payments, outlets, and related operational processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to uncover complex customer requirements and operational dependencies and translate them into appropriate technology solutions.
  • Working knowledge of APIs, system integrations, networking, cloud technologies, and information security, with the ability to discuss solution architecture credibly with technical stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to connect technical capabilities to business value, influence the buying process, address objections, and support the advancement of sales opportunities.
  • Proven ability to lead complex product demonstrations and communicate effectively with operational, technical, and executive audiences.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and competing priorities while maintaining solution accuracy and quality.
  • Possession of a valid passport and the ability to promptly obtain and maintain any visas or other travel authorizations required for the role, with the ability and willingness to travel at least 50% of the time throughout North, Central, and South America for customer meetings, hotel visits, internal meetings, and industry events.


Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications)


  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in sales engineering, pre-sales, solutions consulting, or another customer-facing commercial role.
  • Experience creating solution diagrams, integration maps, technical scope documents, demo scripts, proof-of-concept plans, or implementation handoff documentation.
  • Experience coordinating technical responses to RFPs or RFIs, or developing technical sales enablement and demonstration resources.
  • Working proficiency in Portuguese.


Additional Information


  • Performance will be measured primarily by responsiveness to the sales team, demonstration effectiveness, contribution to opportunity progression, win rates and supported revenue, and solution accuracy.


Working Environment


  • This position is based in Shiji's Mexico City office in the Polanco area. Employees are expected to work a hybrid schedule when not traveling for business.
  • The regular work schedule for this position is 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Mexico City time, including a one-hour unpaid meal period during which the employee is relieved of all work duties.
  • This role supports the Americas region and requires regular collaboration with
  • Sales leadership and cross-functional teams across multiple locations and time zones.
  • This role requires travel of at least 50% of the time throughout the Americas region for customer meetings, hotel visits, internal meetings, and industry events.
