Talent Acquisition Specialist

The Opportunity

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will play a critical role in building and executing scalable, high-performing talent acquisition function for a growing, private equity-backed SaaS organization. This role will own the full-cycle recruitment process and partner closely with hiring managers and the VP, HR to attract, assess, and hire high-quality talent across the organization. 


The Talent Acquisition Specialist will develop proactive and targeted recruiting strategies for a diverse range of roles, including SaaS/B2B software sales, customer success, customer support, marketing, product, engineering, data and analytics, managed services, delivery and implementation, IT, human resources, accounting and finance. 


This role will recruit across US, Canada, and India and will be expected to understand the differences in talent markets, compensation expectations, employment practices, and recruiting requirements across these geographies. 


In partnership with the VP, HR, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will help build and continuously improve a world-class Talent Acquisition function. This may include strengthening the company’s employer brand, developing talent pipelines, establishing recruiting service-level expectations, implementing recruiting metrics and dashboards, enhancing the candidate and hiring manager experience, and identifying opportunities to leverage technology and AI to improve recruiting effectiveness and efficiency. 


The successful candidate will bring a business-minded, data-driven, and hands-on approach to recruiting, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment where priorities can shift quickly.


What You Will Do 

  • Own and proactively manage the full-cycle recruitment process from talent need identification and requisition development through sourcing, interviewing, selection, offer, and acceptance. 
  • Partner with the VP, HR and hiring managers to define business needs, position requirements, competencies, and candidate profiles for open positions.
  • Serve as trusted talent advisor to hiring managers, providing guidance on recruiting strategy, talent availability, compensation considerations, candidate assessment, selection and offers. 
  • Develop and execute tailored sourcing strategies based on the role, talent market, geography, and level of position. 
  • Build and maintain diverse talent pipelines for current and anticipated hiring needs, including both active and passive candidates. 
  • Leverage a variety of sourcing channels, including LinkedIn, job boards, professional networks, employee referrals, industry associations, social recruiting, targeted outreach and other innovative sourcing methods. 
  • Develop a strong understanding of the company’s products, business strategy, customers, culture, and employee value proposition in order to effectively represent the organization to candidates.
  • Serve as a compelling ambassador for the company’s employer brand and employee value proposition throughout the recruiting process. 
  • Conduct recruiter screens and structured interviews to evaluate candidates against established qualifications and competencies. 
  • Coordinate and facilitate interview processes, ensuring timely communication, appropriate interview structure, and consistent candidate experience. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment process and proactively manage candidate relationships. 
  • Partner with hiring managers to establish interview plans, scorecards, selection criteria, and timely decision-making processes.
  • Facilitate offer development and presentation, including partnering with HR and hiring manager on compensation considerations and offer negotiations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely candidate and recruiting activity within the applicant tracking system.
  • Ensure recruiting practices and documentation support compliance with applicable US, Canadian, and Indian employment and recruiting requirements. 
  • Develop and maintain recruiting metrics, dasboards, and reporting, including measures such as time-to-fill, time-in-stage, source effectiveness, candidate pipeline, offer acceptance, hiring manager satisfaction, and recruiting activity. 
  • Establish and monitor recruitment SLAs and expectations with hiring managers and internal stakeholders. 
  • Help develop and continuously improve recruiting processes, workflows, templates, interview practices, and tools to create a scalable Talent Acquisition function. 
  • Partner with the VP, HR and HR team on workforce planning and anticipated talent needs as the organization grows. 
  • Support the development of an employment brand and talent attraction strategy that strengthens the organization’s ability to compete for high-demand talent.
  • Explore and implement appropriate recruiting technology, automation, AI-enabled recruiting tools, and other solutions that improve sourcing, screening, communication, and recruiting efficiency. 
  • Stay current on talent acquisition trends, labor market conditions, recruiting technology, compensation trends, and competitive talent practices across the US, Canada, and India. 
  • Share recruiting insights, market intelligence, and best practices with HR and business leaders. 
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, collaboration, and high-quality executive within the HR function. 

What You’ll Need to Succeed: 

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, communications, or related field.
  • 5 years progressive full-cycle recruiting or talent acquisition experience, preferably within SaaS, B2B software, technology, professional services or another high-growth environment. 
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting across a broad range of corporate, technical, and customer-facing functions. 
  • Experience recruiting roles such as software/SaaS sales, customer success, customer support, product, engineering, data/analytics, implementation, professional services, IT finance, and corporate functions. 
  • Experience recruiting across multiple geographic markets; experience supporting US, Canadian, and India talent markets is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop creative sourcing strategies and successfully identify both active and passive candidates. 
  • Strong experience with LinkedIn Recruiter and other modern sourcing and recruiting technologies.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems and HR technology platforms.
  • Experience conducting structured recruiter screens and competency-based interviews.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting and negotiating employment offers. 
  • Strong understanding of recruiting metrics and the ability to use data to evaluate and improve recruiting effectiveness. 
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and advise hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
  • Strong understanding of candidate experience and employer branding principles.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth, E-backed, or change-oriented environment. 
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple requisitions, priorities, hiring managers, and candidate pipelines simultaneously. 
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. 
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to understand how talent needs connect to organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with a high degree of ownership, urgency, discretion, and accountability. 
  • Ability to work effectively with employees, managers, and leaders across different functions, cultures, and geographic locations.
