The Role:

This is a hands-on internship within ThoughtSpot's People & HR Operations team, designed for someone who wants to understand how a fast-moving, global AI company keeps its people processes running. You will work across the full Hire-to-Retire lifecycle — from the moment a new hire joins to the day someone exits — handling the operational work that keeps the employee experience consistent and compliant.
This is a great fit if you are detail-oriented, comfortable juggling multiple tasks, and want real exposure to how HR Ops works at a Gartner Magic Quadrant-recognised tech company.


What You'll Do:
1  ·  Onboarding & New Hire Administration

  • Prepare and send new hire welcome emails and Day 1 logistics information
  • Create employee profiles in Rippling with all required fields
  • Assign and track completion of new hire onboarding task lists in Rippling
  • Send and track completion of new hire documentation: offer letter acknowledgement, policy sign-offs, tax forms
  • Coordinate IT provisioning requests for new hires: laptop, system access, tools
  • Set up and administer new hire orientation sessions including scheduling and logistics
  • Prepare region-wise new hire checklists, add them to onboarding SOPs, and keep them updated
  • Track Day 1 readiness checklist for all incoming hires and flag exceptions
  • Monitor and follow up on incomplete onboarding tasks past the due date
  • Maintain the new hire tracker and update status fields weekly

2  ·  Offboarding & Exit Administration

  • Initiate offboarding workflows in Rippling on receipt of termination confirmation
  • Send exit documentation packages to departing employees
  • Track return of company assets: laptop, ID card, access cards
  • Track completion of offboarding tasks and follow up on outstanding items
  • Update employee status in Rippling post last working day
  • Prepare region-wise employee-facing offboarding checklists, link them to existing SOPs, and keep them updated

3  ·  Employee Data & HR Transactions

  • Process employee data change requests in Rippling: manager changes, title changes, department transfers, location updates
  • Generate and send standard employment letters: verification of employment, compensation letters, experience letters
  • Process probation confirmation updates in Rippling for non-US employees
  • Update employee records following approval of lifecycle changes
  • Maintain the HR transactions tracker and update status on each request
  • Follow up on pending approvals and incomplete data change requests

4  ·  Compliance & Audit Support

  • Run regular audits of new hire task completion and flag non-compliance
  • Maintain and update compliance trackers for onboarding and offboarding
  • Run a monthly audit to ensure 100% completion and acknowledgement of all mandatory HR policy sign-offs and compliance requirements across all regions
  • Maintain audit logs and ensure documentation is filed and accessible

5  ·  Benefits Operations

  • Manage additions and deletions of employee benefits data
  • Handle first-level employee benefits queries and escalate where needed
  • Follow up with new joiners to ensure completion of benefits enrolment
  • Ensure completion of nominations by new joiners
  • Coordinate with insurers and brokers on employee queries and follow up through to resolution
  • Guide employees through the GMC and OPD claims process and assist with claim rejections
  • Manage documentation and system updates for Maternity Leave and Paternity Leave in India

6  ·  Ticketing & Employee Support

  • Monitor the HR Jira board: triage new tickets, update status, and follow up on overdue items
  • Respond to routine employee queries in the #mypeople Slack channel
  • Escalate complex or sensitive queries to senior HR Ops team members
  • Log all employee interactions and resolutions in Jira for audit and reporting purposes
  • Send acknowledgement and status update messages to employees on open tickets


What You Bring:

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail — you catch things before they become problems
  • Comfortable working with tools like Google Sheets, Jira, and Slack — experience with Rippling is a plus
  • Clear written communication: you can draft a professional email without much hand-holding
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow up proactively without being reminded
  • Discretion when handling sensitive and confidential employee information
  • Eagerness to learn how HR Ops actually works inside a global tech company

Spotters are expected to demonstrate AI literacy and workflow integration to include to ability to:

  • Comfortably and confidently integrate artificial intelligence into their daily workflow to increase productivity and quality.
  • Hands-on experience to leverage AI tools (industry-leading LLMs) to increase productivity, automate routine tasks, and improve work quality.
  • Speak to the experience of using AI for research, content creation, and document summarization while maintaining ownership of judgment and final decisions.
  • Write effective prompts to get the most accurate and creative results from AI tools.


Spotters are expected to exemplify these key traits and AI Mindset:

  • Curiosity in exploring new AI tools
  • Adaptability to quickly learn and implement new, emerging AI technologies
  • Critical thinking to know when to identify when AI should be used versus when human judgement is necessary
