Operations Manager

About Vector Health

Vector Health AI is an automated financial assistance platform built for rural hospitals. Most critical access and rural community hospitals have thousands of patients who qualify for funding they never receive: nonprofit grants, patient assistance programs, free drug programs, copay assistance, state and federal benefits. They never receive it because hospital staff don't have the time or systems to find it. We integrate directly with a hospital's EHR, screen every self-pay and balance-after-insurance account against 2,000+ funding sources, submit claims, and recover dollars directly from nonprofits and foundations, with zero IT lift and no burden on hospital staff. We're paid a share of what we recover, so hospitals only pay when we deliver.

We serve critical access hospitals, rural community hospitals, and multi-site rural health systems across the country, and we're growing fast.

The Role

We're hiring an Operations Manager to work directly alongside our Head of Operations and take real weight off her plate. Vector Health's product already automates most of the repetitive work that creates value for our customers: screening accounts, submitting claims, tracking cases. What's left is the interesting part. The account that needs real judgment. The process that's breaking in a way automation hasn't caught up to yet. The patient case that needs someone to actually dig in and get creative about how to help.

We're looking for someone who hustles to make sure the product actually delivers value to customers. If a task doesn't get automated yet, you pick it up and decide how it will be automated moving forward. The same instinct applies to onboarding: you drive it, and you're always asking how it gets better, because the real goal is getting hospitals to value as quickly as possible.

You'll take over the task queue and get your hands around our compliance program from day one. From there, your ownership expands fast: hospital implementation (including being hospital-facing and building direct relationships with hospital leadership), patient case research, and keeping the day-to-day running smoothly. This role won't look the same in six months because we expect you to shape, expand, and grow it alongside the company.

What You'll Do

Process Ownership & Automation

  • Take ownership of any task that reaches you because it needs real judgment: a mismatched record, an inconsistency, a decision the product can't make on its own.
  • Document your workflow closely enough that it can be handed off to automation. Flag every process that's breaking down or slowing down. Work with the engineering team to fix the underlying process so it never lands on your desk again.
  • Research inbound patient inquiries: their situation, their coverage, which of our programs may apply. Build a complete, call-ready case summary. Do the digging so our outreach team can spend all their time on the phone
  • Own our compliance program from day one and build compliance into every process you touch.
  • Lead high-impact operational projects as they arise, from process improvements and vendor research to new internal systems and customer-facing initiatives.
  • Step into ambiguous problems, define the path forward, and drive them to completion.

Implementation

  • Own implementation for new hospital partners, coordinating every moving piece to keep launches on track.
  • Surface blockers early, propose solutions, and keep momentum without waiting for direction.
  • Build trusted relationships with hospital leaders by leading kickoff calls, check-ins, and ongoing operational conversations.

What We're Looking For

  • You're sharp and creative. Give you a messy patient case or a process that's manual, and you find a way through it that nobody wrote down yet
  • You take pride in building lasting customer relationships and achieving measurable results. Watching satisfied customers become advocates and seeing the business grow is rewarding to you.
  • If you catch yourself doing the same thing twice, you automate it. AI-proficiency is key
  • Executive-level communication is core to this role. You're confident talking directly with hospital CEOs and leadership, with patients, and with our internal team, every week
  • Detail-oriented and reliable with sensitive patient and financial data
  • You thrive in a fast-moving startup where the job changes every few months

Why Vector Health

  • Mission-driven work with a real, human stake. Rural hospitals are closing at an alarming rate, and the patients who rely on them are often facing a health crisis alongside financial hardship, medical debt, and confusion about their aid options. • Join an early-stage team building AI-driven infrastructure for an underserved market of 3,000+ rural hospitals
  • Real ownership from day one, working directly with our Head of Operations

Compensation

$100,000–$120,000, full-time, remote, reporting to the Head of Operations.
