We are currently seeking a Co-op Student to join our Portfolio Strategy team. The successful candidate will support the development of a structured business case for a rare disease development program (specific indication confidential) within the Portfolio Strategy team. The objective is to integrate competitive intelligence, clinical evidence, and external landscape insights to inform strategic positioning and decision-making.


This position reports to the Portfolio Strategy Manager. This role will be located in Vancouver, BC and is full-time onsite. The hourly wage for this co-op position is $21.00 CAD. 


What You'll Do

  • Support the development of a business case for a rare disease program, integrating scientific, clinical, and competitive insights.
  • Conduct targeted competitive intelligence to characterize:  
    • Current and emerging treatment landscape  
    • Key competitors, mechanisms of action, and clinical positioning  
    • Relevant clinical trial data and regulatory milestones  
  • Synthesize external clinical data to inform understanding of:  
    • Differentiation potential of the molecule  
    • Unmet medical needs in the indication  
    • Key risks and uncertainties  
  • Contribute to strategic framing of the opportunity, including:  
    • Potential positioning within the treatment landscape  
    • High-level value drivers and areas of differentiation  
  • Support development of structured outputs (slides and narrative) to communicate the business case clearly to cross-functional stakeholders. 
  • Assist in preparing materials for internal discussions and decision-making forums.  
  • Participate in team discussions to refine assumptions and ensure alignment with broader portfolio strategy. 


What You'll Bring

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Biochemistry, Immunology, Biology, or related discipline. 
  • Available for a co-op term of at least 8-months. Successful completion of at least one relevant co-op term is preferred. 
  • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of cross-functional team. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.  
  • Highly organized with good attention to detail.    
  • Good oral, presentation, and scientific/technical writing skills.  
  • Good computer skills particularly with Excel and PowerPoint.
