15 lightyears is seeking a full-time Commercial Electrician to join our growing team! In this role, you will perform electrical installation and maintenance on job sites. You’ll read blueprints, install switchgear, distribution panels, transformers, and other electrical equipment, and handle a variety of electrical tasks to support general construction and solar projects.

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: 15 lightyears corporate office located in Lake Mary, FL. Job is performed in various counties across Central Florida.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 7am to 4pm. Potential for overtime is available.

Responsibilities Include:

• Perform electrical repair and installation from basic to mid-level tasks.
• Assemble, install, maintain, and test electrical wiring and components for solar arrays/systems (AC and DC) and commercial buildings.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning systems using test equipment and hand tools.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures for hazards, defects, or compliance issues.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, motors, and other components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and job specifications to plan layout and installation.
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
• Conduct quality audits and inspections of products, processes, and completed work.
• Install ground leads, pull wiring through conduit, and secure electrical boxes, switches, and outlets.
• Safely operate a variety of tools and equipment, including ladders, scaffolds, power tools, and testing devices.
• Work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions while following safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial electrician experience.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, blueprints, and safe installation practices.
• Proficient with hand and power tools; experience with solar panels, inverters, panel boards, batteries, and related electrical equipment.
• Capable of working at heights including on rooftops, climbing ladders and stairs
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks (bending, climbing, standing for long periods).
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Collaborative team player with reliable transportation.
• Must be able to pass a Background Check and Pre-Employment Drug Screen.
• Florida Driver’s License with Safe Driving Record Required.
