The Project Engineer I supports the execution of Department of War (DoW) programs by serving as a key coordinator between engineering, program management, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and customers. Working under the direction of the Project Engineering Manager, Chief Engineer, and Program Manager, the Project Engineer I helps ensure technical activities are planned, tracked, and executed in support of program objectives. This role focuses on technical program execution, action tracking, risk management, schedule coordination, technical documentation, and cross-functional communication rather than detailed technical design ownership.
· Support execution of engineering activities across the program lifecycle.
· Track engineering action items, deliverables, and technical commitments.
· Coordinate activities between systems, mechanical, electrical, software, manufacturing, quality, and test teams.
· Assist in maintaining Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and engineering execution plans.
· Maintain program risk, opportunity, issue, and action item trackers.
· Coordinate mitigation plans with engineering and program leadership.
· Support development of technical documentation, presentations, reports, and engineering deliverables.
· Coordinate design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and engineering status reviews.
· Serve as a coordination point between engineering, program management, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers.
· Facilitate communication of priorities, schedules, dependencies, and technical issues.
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physics, Mathematics, Business, Project Management, or related technical discipline.
· 3-5 years of experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or technical programs.
· Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
· Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
· Experience supporting engineering projects, manufacturing programs, or defense programs.
· Familiarity with project scheduling tools, action item tracking, and risk management processes.
· Exposure to DoW acquisition programs and technical reviews.
· Experience working in cross-functional teams.
· Active security clearance.
