Open Roles

Forward Deployed Implementation, Senior Analyst (BLR)

Alchelyst is a client solutions and infrastructure partner for private markets asset managers. Purpose-built for the expanding demands and sophistication of global private markets, the firm offers a comprehensive managed service offering that can support GPs, private wealth funds and investors. Alchelyst has offices in the US, Ireland, UK, Luxembourg and India.

AURUM, Alchelyst’s proprietary technology platform, is designed to automate fund administration processes at scale. Its core features work out of the box, and the platform is flexible enough to adapt to each client’s needs. The Forward Deployed Implementation team makes sure AURUM works for every client, from day one and every day after. The role has two parts:

  • Implementation: Onboarding new clients onto AURUM. This means understanding their fund structures, reporting needs, and operating model, then working with operations and technology teams to configure the platform so clients go live smoothly.
  • Adoption and tactical solutions: Extending AURUM to client-specific, complex and exception-driven cases. The team sits alongside operations teams to understand these cases and works with the technology team to deliver tailored solutions quickly, so that AURUM becomes part of how operations works every day.

We are seeking a techno-functional professional with 3-5 years of experience in fund administration, either as a fund accountant or as a business analyst on fund accounting systems.

The ideal candidate combines a solid understanding of private markets fund accounting with a strong interest in technology. They’ll support new client implementations and work with operations teams, under the guidance of senior team members, to identify, document and deliver tactical solutions on AURUM.

Key Responsibilities

Client Implementation

  • Support the onboarding of new clients onto AURUM across requirements gathering, configuration, testing and go-live.
  • Work with clients, operations and technology teams to document fund structures, reporting needs and operating models, and help translate them into platform setup.
  • Support data migration, validation and parallel runs, including data preparation, reconciliations and tracking of open items through to closure.
  • Act as a day-to-day contact on assigned onboarding tasks, tracking progress against the plan and flagging risks early to senior team members.

Operations Engagement & Adoption

  • Work closely with fund accounting, investor services and reporting teams to understand current workflows, document manual workarounds and note where standard AURUM features do not fully meet the need.
  • Support Operations leads and senior team members on AURUM adoption, helping users understand how the platform can support their day-to-day processes.
  • Track adoption across assigned teams and processes, and flag barriers to adoption with supporting data and suggested next steps.

Use Case Analysis & Solution Support

  • Analyze assigned client-specific and non-standard use cases, including bespoke fund structures, waterfall and allocation logic, non-standard investor reporting and exception handling.
  • Help assess whether each use case is best addressed through configuration, a tactical build, a workflow change or a roadmap item for the core product, and present options to senior team members.
  • Write clear business requirements, functional specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria for assigned use cases, with review from senior team members.
  • Contribute to solution design discussions with the technology team, helping weigh speed of delivery against scalability, control and maintainability.

Delivery & Testing

  • Maintain the tactical backlog for assigned operations areas, keeping status, priority and effort information up to date for review.
  • Work in short delivery cycles with developers, product owners and QA, managing timelines on assigned items without prompting.
  • Support user acceptance testing with operations, including writing test scenarios, preparing test data, running parallel tests and tracking defects to resolution.
  • Support go-live activities including cutover, training sessions, user guides and hypercare support.

Product Feedback & Standardization

  • Flag recurring patterns across tactical requests and suggest candidates for generalization into core AURUM features.
  • Capture and share feedback with the product team on usability, feature gaps and operational pain points.
  • Contribute to the library of reusable solutions, configurations and playbooks, keeping documentation current.

Governance

  • Prepare updates on delivery progress, adoption metrics and benefits realized (hours saved, errors reduced) for senior team members.
  • Follow internal control, audit and data governance requirements, maintaining appropriate documentation and supporting change management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field. CA, CPA, ACCA, CFA (any level) or an MBA in Finance would be an advantage.
  • 3-5 years of experience in fund administration or private markets, as a fund accountant, business analyst, or in a techno-functional role on fund accounting systems.
  • Good working knowledge of private markets fund accounting, including capital calls, distributions, management fees, carried interest and waterfalls, NAV calculations, investor allocations, and financial and investor reporting.
  • Exposure to gathering requirements from operations users and documenting them as functional specifications or user stories.
  • Experience working on or supporting fund accounting platforms such as Investran, Geneva, eFront, Allvue, LemonEdge, FIS, or similar.
  • Basic working knowledge of SQL for data analysis and validation.
  • Experience participating in UAT or system go-lives in an operational environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet timelines and escalate issues with context and a proposed resolution.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, and comfort working with both operations users and engineers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Private Equity, Private Credit, Real Estate, Infrastructure or Fund of Funds administration.
  • Exposure to Agile delivery and tools such as Jira, Confluence or Azure DevOps.
  • Exposure to workflow automation, low-code platforms, or scripting (e.g., Python, Power Automate).
  • Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Experience with data integrations, file-based imports and exports, or APIs between fund accounting and third-party systems.
  • Exposure to change management, transformation or process improvement projects.

What Success Looks Like

  • Within 1–3 Months: Build a working understanding of AURUM, the client implementation process and existing operational workflows, and begin documenting non-standard use cases and manual workarounds outside AURUM for review with senior team members.
  • Within 4–9 Months: Deliver assigned items within agreed timelines, write requirements that need minimal rework, and support solutions through UAT with minimal defects. Contribute to increased AURUM adoption and reduced reliance on manual workarounds in assigned areas. Support new client implementations through to go-live.
  • Within 9–12 Months: Work with greater independence on assigned workstreams, track the impact of delivered solutions (hours saved, errors reduced, turnaround times), and flag recurring requests that could become core AURUM features.
  • Ongoing: Continue to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and AURUM adoption. Support the onboarding of new Analysts by sharing knowledge and modelling process discipline.
