Occupational Therapist – Hand Therapy (CHT Preferred)

Brunswick Physical Therapy, powered by Areté Health, is looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our team in Porters Neck, NC.

As our Occupational Therapist, you’ll help patients regain function, independence, and confidence following injuries, surgeries, and other conditions, with a focus on hand and upper-extremity rehabilitation. You’ll be part of a team focused on delivering a great experience for our patients, supporting one another, and continuing to grow and improve together.

What you'll want to know

  • Compensation: $90,000-$110,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications, plus applicable performance-based incentive opportunities. Eligible clinicians may also have access to up to $20,000 in personalized career investment support, which may be applied toward areas such as student loan repayment, advanced training, certifications, residency, relocation, or other professional development opportunities, subject to eligibility and program terms.
  • Schedule: Full-time, with scheduling flexibility based on clinic and team needs
  • Location: Brunswick Physical Therapy | Porters Neck, NC | Onsite clinical position
  • The opportunity: Whether you are already a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) or an Occupational Therapist looking to further develop your skills in hand and upper-extremity rehabilitation, this role offers the opportunity to build specialized clinical expertise within a collaborative outpatient rehabilitation team.

What you'll do

  • Evaluate patients with functional limitations, injuries, and disabilities, including hand and upper-extremity conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans based on each patient’s goals, progress, and functional needs
  • Provide direct patient care using therapeutic activities, manual therapy, appropriate modalities, ADL retraining, and functional rehabilitation techniques
  • Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, adaptive equipment, safety, and strategies to support continued progress outside the clinic
  • Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
  • Collaborate with the Director of Occupational Therapy, Clinic Director, and other rehabilitation professionals to coordinate patient care

What we're looking for

Required

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Current, unrestricted Occupational Therapist license in North Carolina, or eligibility to obtain licensure before starting
  • Current CPR certification
  • Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and evidence-based treatment skills
  • Interest in hand therapy and upper-extremity rehabilitation

Preferred

  • Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential
  • Previous experience in hand and upper-extremity rehabilitation
  • Previous experience in an outpatient occupational therapy setting

CHT certification is preferred, not required. We welcome Occupational Therapists who are interested in further developing their skills in hand therapy.
