About the Role

We’re looking for a Web Developer to help build and enhance video streaming experiences across web browsers, smart TVs, and mobile devices.

You’ll work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to develop new features, improve performance, and create high-quality user experiences for viewers around the world. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys modern frontend development, solving technical challenges, and building products used at scale.

What You'll Own/Do:

Frontend Development & Core Responsibilities

• Build and maintain modern web applications using React and related frontend technologies.
• Develop new features and enhancements for our video streaming platform across web and connected TV devices.
• Create responsive, performant user interfaces that work across multiple devices and screen sizes.
• Write clear, maintainable code within a shared codebase.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Collaborate with cross-functional team members on features, design, and implementation within an agile team environment.
• Investigate, learn, and apply new technologies to enhance frontend capabilities.
• Clarify requirements with both team and client representatives to ensure successful project delivery.

What We Require for this Role:

• 3+ years of professional web development experience.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills.
• Experience building applications with React or similar modern frontend frameworks.
• Experience working with REST APIs.
• Familiarity with Git and modern software development workflows.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities.

Bonus Points for Candidates Who Have:

• Top-Tier Education: You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from a 4-yr accredited institution globally ranked in the top 500 universities.
• SaaS Platforms: Previous experience with SaaS platforms or live/VOD video streaming products.
• Experience building video, media, streaming, or OTT applications.
• Experience developing Progressive Web Applications (PWAs).
• Familiarity with smart TV platforms such as Tizen, WebOS, or Roku.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Exposure to Kotlin or Kotlin Multiplatform.
• Understanding of streaming technologies such as HLS or DASH.

The pay range for this role is:

65,000 - 120,000 CAD per year (Vancouver). We are hiring at multiple levels depending on experience and fit, and compensation will reflect the candidate’s level, background, and internal equity considerations.
