About the role

The Director, Financial Planning & Analysis will lead the Company's financial planning, forecasting, strategic analysis, and business partnering functions. This role serves as a key partner to the VP FP&A and executive leadership team, providing financial leadership to support R&D and Technical operations strategy, operational execution, commercialization readiness, and long-term value creation. The Director will oversee enterprise budgeting, long-range planning, cash forecasting, Board reporting, and strategic decision support while building scalable financial processes and capabilities to support the Company's growth.

Essential Functions

  • Strategic Finance & Corporate Planning
    • Lead enterprise-wide annual operating planning, long-range planning, and rolling forecast processes for all R&D and Tech Ops functions.
    • Develop financial frameworks that support strategic decision-making and capital allocation.
    • Translate corporate strategy into actionable financial plans and performance metrics.
    • Partner with executive leadership to evaluate strategic alternatives and growth opportunities.
  • Executive & Board Reporting
    • Assist VP FP&A with preparation of financial materials for Executive Leadership Team, Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and external stakeholders.
    • Deliver actionable insights regarding operating performance, cash runway, and strategic initiatives.
    • Develop KPI dashboards and executive reporting packages.
  • Capital Planning & Cash Management
    • Own cash forecasting and liquidity planning processes for R&D and Tech Ops.
    • Assist VP FP&A on financing initiatives and capital strategy.
    • Assess investment opportunities and resource prioritization across the organization.
  • Strategic Transactions
    • Assist VP FP&A and CFO with financial due diligence and valuation support for business development, licensing, M&A, and partnership opportunities.
    • Develop business cases supporting strategic investment decisions.
  • Team Leadership & Organizational Development
    • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing FP&A team supporting R&D/Tech Ops.
    • Coach and mentor finance team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Establish scalable processes, tools, and capabilities to support the Company's growth trajectory.
    • Partner with Finance leadership on talent planning, organizational design, and succession development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field required.
  • 10–15+ years of progressive FP&A, strategic finance, or corporate finance experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and cross functional initiatives.
  • Experience supporting executive leadership teams and Boards of Directors.
  • Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences organizations, including clinical-stage and/or commercial-stage environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with capital planning, fundraising support, commercialization forecasting, and strategic decision support
