Director, Quality & Patient Safety

Overview 
The Director, Quality & Patient Safety provides strategic leadership for RadPod’s Quality Management Program. This role oversees clinical quality, patient safety, accreditation, regulatory compliance, and continuous performance improvement. Serving in a dyad partnership with the Chief Quality Officer, the Director collaborates with physicians, Product, Engineering, Operations, and client healthcare organizations to promote a culture of quality, innovation, and patient safety. This remote position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and requires approximately 20% travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the Quality & Patient Safety Program across clinical services and healthcare technology
  • Partner with the Chief Quality Officer to establish and execute RadPod’s quality strategy
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives that promote clinical excellence, patient safety, and operational performance
  • Review radiology-related near misses, adverse events, and sentinel events involving company physicians or technology
  • Lead Root Cause Analyses (RCAs), corrective action plans, and follow-up monitoring
  • Oversee physician quality metrics, peer review, discrepancy management, turnaround times, and communication of critical findings
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to identify and mitigate technology-related risks that may impact patient care
  • Direct accreditation, regulatory compliance, licensing, and organizational survey readiness
  • Represent RadPod in MEC meetings with client hospitals and health systems, serving as the primary liaison
  • Develop enterprise quality dashboards, scorecards, and performance metrics, and present results to executive leadership
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, transparency, and accountability through education and collaboration
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN), Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related healthcare field
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or equivalent preferred

Preferred Licenses/Certifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
  • Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS)

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years leading a quality and patient safety program supporting radiology, diagnostic imaging, teleradiology, or healthcare technology
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare quality improvement and patient safety principles
  • Understanding of radiology operations and imaging workflows
  • Experience with accreditation, regulatory compliance, and licensing
  • Experience leading quality improvement initiatives and Root Cause Analyses (RCAs)
  • Experience collaborating with physicians, executive leadership, and healthcare organizations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
