ABOUT THE ROLE:
Crowd Pleasers Dance produces high-quality dance competitions and camps across Texas and beyond. We are looking for a reliable, responsible, and hands-on Production Lead to support our events in the Greater DFW Area. This role is responsible for Friday afternoon/evening event setup and Saturday evening teardown, helping ensure our event equipment is safely transported, installed, and packed for the next event.


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Production Lead will oversee the setup and teardown of sound equipment for weekend dance competitions. This is a hands-on role that requires comfort with physical work, driving a box truck, and working independently to get event spaces production-ready.


The position runs January 29th–March 6th and requires Friday afternoon/evening setup and Saturday evening teardown for scheduled events in the Greater DFW Area.


Typical Schedule:

  • Friday Setup: Start time may range from 2:00 PM–8:00 PM, depending on the event schedule. Setup is approximately 6 hours.
  • Saturday Strike: Typically begins at 9:00 PM or later following the completion of the event. Strike is approximately 4 hours.

Exact start times will vary by event and will be communicated in advance.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safely drive and operate a box truck to transport event equipment and supplies
  • Load and unload event supplies, roadcases, sound equipment, and other production materials
  • Move equipment throughout event venues and place items in designated areas as coordinated with the Site Director
  • Set up sound equipment in up to three designated performance areas
  • Assist with basic sound setup, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Work with the event team to ensure all performance areas are fully set and ready on time
  • Return Saturday evening for event teardown and load-out
  • Safely dismantle, pack, and organize equipment and roadcases for transport
  • Communicate progress, equipment concerns, and troubleshooting needs to the appropriate team members
  • Assist with event signage setup and other production needs as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be comfortable driving and operating a box truck
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record
  • Comfortable lifting and moving heavy equipment and roadcases
  • Able to work on your feet and perform physical labor for extended periods
  • Previous sound or event production experience is preferred
  • Basic sound setup knowledge is a plus; we are willing to train the right candidate
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable
  • Comfortable working independently and taking direction from the Site Director and event team
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to jump in wherever needed
  • Must be available for Friday setup and Saturday evening teardown during the January 29th–March 6th event period
  • Comfortable with variable Friday start times and late Saturday evening strike times
