About the role

• We are seeking a Technical Requirements Systems Engineer to help oversee the planning, design, and implementation of a mission-critical system.In this role, you'll work closely with the Product Owner and key stakeholders to perform workflow and business process engineering, gather functional requirements, and define technical requirements.
• You'll also collaborate with the Task Lead, Scrum Master, Systems Engineers, and Developers to support sprint execution, functional testing, and sprint reviews and demos. The ideal candidate is passionate about collaboratively solving challenging problems, can effectively communicate complex technical concepts, and has a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions.
• This position is based in Annapolis Junction, MD, with up to one day of telework per week as project tasking allows.

What you'll do

• Support the planning, design, and implementation of a mission-critical system.
• Work with Product Owners and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document functional and technical requirements.
• Perform workflow and business process engineering to help translate customer needs into effective technical solutions.
• Serve as a key liaison between customers and development teams while managing customer expectations.
• Collaborate with Task Leads, Scrum Masters, Systems Engineers, and Developers to facilitate sprint execution.
• Support functional testing and participate in sprint reviews and demonstrations.
• Translate and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex technical challenges.

Qualifications

• U.S Citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
• Familiarity with software development using Java or JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience with RESTful microservices.
• Familiarity with cloud-based architecture and deployment, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Proven experience eliciting, documenting, and managing functional and technical requirements.
• Experience serving as a liaison between customers and development teams, including managing customer expectations.
• Ability to understand and clearly articulate complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
• Experience with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Preferred Experience

• Experience coordinating the design and development of AI-driven solutions from concept through deployment.
• Ability to support the integration of AI solutions into existing software architectures.
• Experience serving as a technical liaison across cross-functional teams, including Systems Engineers, Software Developers, and domain experts.
• Ability to clearly communicate recommended AI approaches, including the tradeoffs and implications of different implementation strategies, to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of current AI and machine learning technologies and trends.
• Experience identifying opportunities to apply emerging technologies and methodologies to improve existing systems and solve complex problems.
