AFSO/Office Coordinator

Decision Technologies seeks a qualified AFSO/Office Coordinator to join our team in Chesapeake, VA.

Position Description: Responsible for managing administrative operations and security oversight at multiple Staging Facility locations to ensure mission success and compliance with federal standards.

Responsibilities and Duties:


• Facility Security Management

o Provide access control management. Oversee and enforce all building entry and exit procedures for employees, contractors, and visitors in accordance with organizational and security policies.

o Execute daily opening and closing procedures; secure and unsecure all entry points at the beginning and end of each workday, ensure alarms and surveillance systems are properly armed or disarmed.

o Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot building intrusion detection systems; ensure alarms are correctly activated and deactivated per security protocols.

o Manage the issuance, collection, and tracking of visitor badges and employee access cards; maintain accurate access logs and ensure compliance with security clearance requirements.

o Provide surveillance system oversight. Monitor and review CCTV feeds and entry logs to verify compliance with access procedures and investigate security incidents when necessary.

o Document all security incidents, irregularities, and after-hours building entries; provide detailed reports to the Facilities Security Officer (FSO) or management.

o Conduct daily physical security inspections to verify that all doors, windows, and restricted areas are properly secured during opening and closing.

o Assist the FSO in developing, implementing, and maintaining the facility's security program.

o Ensure compliance with security regulations, including NISPOM, and government directives.

o Assist with preparing the facility for government audits and inspections.



• Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO)

o Assist in maintaining compliance with NISPOM (National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual) and company security procedures; participate in staff security awareness training.

o Prepare and process Ship Visit Requests (SHVRs) for personnel; coordinate with appropriate commands and security offices to ensure visitor clearances, access, and escort requirements are properly managed and approved.


• Reception and visitor services

o Verify employee and visitor credentials at points of entry; escort uncleared or unauthorized personnel as required within secure areas.

o Handle incoming phone calls, screen calls, take messages, and direct them to the appropriate person or department.

o Interface with maintenance personnel for minor repairs, construction teams, and delivery services.


• Administrative and operations support

o Provide direct support to the Facility Manager for office activities, schedules, meetings, products and services.

o Preparing reports and maintaining records.


• Other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Assistant Facilities Security Officer designation

• Experience with DISS: Proficiency in using the Defense Information System for Security to manage personnel clearances, visit requests, and incident reporting.

• Knowledge of Facility Clearance (FCL) Requirements: Understanding of how to maintain and manage a cleared facility under DCSA oversight

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage various responsibilities efficiently.

• Experience planning, scheduling preparing for program reviews and meetings.

• Interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.

• Personal Computer skills (proficiency with MS Office applications).


Desired Qualifications:

• Experience working on a Navy technical support contract.

• Experience with funds management, reporting on financial status, and projecting resource requirements.

• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
