About the role
The Systems Fabrication Manager is responsible for leading Electrosonic's fabrication operations, overseeing the assembly, testing, quality assurance, and delivery of integrated audiovisual systems. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technical expertise, team development, quality management, and operational oversight.
The Systems Fabrication Manager will provide leadership and direction for fabrication teams in both Orlando, FL and Burbank, CA, ensuring consistency in fabrication standards, processes, quality, and technician development across both locations. This position serves as a key contributor to the development and implementation of fabrication standards, quality procedures, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
This position is based full-time in our Orlando fabrication facility. While primarily an in-office role, occasional travel to other company locations, project sites, and customer locations may be required to support project execution, quality initiatives, training, and operational alignment.
What you'll do
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, coach, and develop fabrication technicians and support personnel across Electrosonic's fabrication operations.
- Foster a culture of accountability, craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Establish performance expectations and support employee growth through training, mentoring, and development initiatives.
- Promote collaboration and consistency between Orlando and Burbank fabrication teams.
Fabrication Operations
- Manage daily fabrication activities, priorities, schedules, and resource allocation to support project delivery requirements.
- Oversee the assembly, wiring, testing, and preparation of AV equipment racks, custom assemblies, and integrated technology systems.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and actively participate in fabrication activities when required to meet business demands.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Logistics, and Field Operations teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Support project installations and field activities as needed to ensure successful deployment and knowledge transfer between fabrication and field teams.
Quality & Standards
- Ensure all fabricated systems meet engineering documentation, project specifications, and company quality standards.
- Conduct quality inspections, testing reviews, and final acceptance of fabricated systems before shipment.
- Establish, document, maintain, and continuously improve fabrication standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Support the development and implementation of fabrication standards and quality processes across both fabrication locations.
- Identify quality issues and implement corrective actions to improve consistency and reduce rework.
Process Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, safety, and operational excellence.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and fabrication workflows.
- Monitor fabrication performance metrics, quality trends, and process improvement opportunities.
- Promote Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement principles throughout fabrication operations.
- Support departmental planning and operational scalability as the organization grows.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience in AV integration, fabrication, manufacturing, or a related technical environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, or supervising technical personnel.
- Strong experience building, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting commercial AV equipment racks and integrated systems.
- Ability to read and interpret rack elevations, wiring diagrams, schematics, engineering drawings, and project documentation.
- Strong understanding of commercial audiovisual technologies and integration best practices.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively manage priorities across multiple projects and locations.
- Proficiency with fabrication tools, test equipment, and assembly processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D certification.
- Experience developing fabrication standards, quality programs, or technical training initiatives.
- Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with ERP, MRP, inventory management, or project management systems.
- Experience working within a commercial AV systems integration environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, logistics, and material handling best practices.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- This position is based full-time in Electrosonic's Orlando fabrication facility and requires regular presence within a warehouse, staging, and fabrication environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work at a computer workstation for extended periods.
- Ability to safely lift and move materials, equipment, and AV components weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Items exceeding 50 pounds should be moved using proper lifting techniques, mechanical assistance, or team lifting practices in accordance with company safety guidelines.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, test equipment, ladders, and material handling equipment.
- Ability to distinguish colors and labels used in cable identification, wiring, and system documentation.
- Occasional travel to project sites, customer locations, and company facilities may be required.
- Must be able to work safely and effectively in warehouse, fabrication, and active construction environments.
Safety & Ergonomics Expectations
The Systems Fabrication Manager is expected to actively promote and reinforce safe work practices throughout the fabrication department, including:
- Implementation and enforcement of Electrosonic's lifting and material handling standards, including the 50/2 Rule, which promotes safe lifting practices by limiting individual lifts to approximately 50 pounds and minimizing repetitive lifting through proper planning, mechanical assistance, and team lifting techniques.
- Implementation and support of the 5/5 Rule, ensuring frequently used tools, materials, and equipment are organized within five feet of the point of use and accessible within five seconds to improve efficiency, reduce unnecessary movement, and promote ergonomic work practices.
- Maintenance of a clean, organized, and efficient fabrication environment utilizing Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement principles.
- Promotion of proper body mechanics, housekeeping standards, and safe operation of tools and equipment to minimize workplace injuries and improve productivity.
- Consistent adherence to company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Salary based on experience: $95k-$110k annual
