Position Overview

Eurasia Group is seeking a Senior Analyst, China Economics and Policy to join our China Practice, based in Singapore (with flexibility to consider other Asia locations). This role will focus on delivering high-impact, actionable analysis on China’s economic trajectory and policy priorities for a sophisticated global client base. The Senior Analyst will contribute to both subscription research and bespoke advisory work, translating complex China economic and policy dynamics into clear implications for corporate and investor decision-makers.

The role reports to the China Practice Director and does not include people management responsibilities.



Responsibilities

  • Lead coverage of China economic and policy developments, with particular focus on industrial policy, macroeconomic and structural trends, and evolving corporate sector behavior.
  • Produce weekly notes and other timely research outputs for subscribers, highlighting key developments, forward-looking scenarios, and implications for clients.
  • Deliver bespoke client briefings (virtual and in-person) tailored to client needs, including preparation of talk tracks, supporting materials, and clear recommendations.
  • Develop special project written products and presentation materials for clients, synthesizing cross-cutting insights and coordinating with colleagues across practices as needed.
  • Conduct sector deep-dives as required, identifying how policy and economic shifts affect priority industries and business environments.
  • Engage directly with clients and internal stakeholders, contributing to strong, trusted client relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, and professional judgment.


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in China-focused economics/policy analysis, political risk, research/consulting, government, finance, journalism, or a related field with demonstrated client-facing responsibilities.
  • Deep subject-matter expertise in China economics and policy, including industrial policy, economic trends, and corporate sector behavior.
  • High degree of Mandarin fluency strongly preferred, including the ability to work with and interpret Chinese-language sources.
  • Strong data skills, including comfort working with economic/financial indicators and using quantitative evidence to support analysis and forecasts.
  • Demonstrated ability to brief and present to sizable audiences, translating complex developments into clear, actionable takeaways for senior decision-makers.
  • Excellent writing and analytical judgment, with consistent ability to deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively across teams, regions, and time zones.
