Warehouse Operations Manager-Texas

About EXP Group

EXP Group is a produce distribution and logistics company with operations in New Jersey, New York, and Texas. Our Pharr, TX facility moves fresh produce through the Rio Grande Valley on tight, time-sensitive schedules, and we are looking for a hands-on operations leader to run it efficiently.

About the role

Pharr, TX | Full-time, On-site

The Warehouse Operations Manager owns day-to-day warehouse performance at our Pharr facility and is directly accountable for labor scheduling, hours, and overtime. You will build schedules that match staffing to actual volume, keep overtime planned and approved before it happens (not after), and provide leadership with clear weekly reporting on hours and labor cost. You will report to the Texas Site Leader.

What you'll do

  • Build and manage weekly schedules for all warehouse shifts based on inbound/outbound volume forecasts
  • Own overtime: plan it in advance, approve it before it is worked, and keep it within budget
  • Distribute hours evenly across the team so overtime is not concentrated on a few employees
  • Design shift structures that keep shift lengths reasonable and ensure adequate rest between shifts
  • Produce weekly reports on hours, overtime, and labor cost by sub-department (receiving, picking, loading, etc.)
  • Review timekeeping and attendance for accuracy before payroll closes
  • Identify bottlenecks in receiving, storage, picking, and shipping, and implement process improvements
  • Track KPIs such as labor cost per case, throughput, on-time shipments, and inventory accuracy
  • Supervise, train, and coach shift leads and warehouse staff
  • Maintain safe, clean, and compliant operations, including food safety and cold chain standards
  • Coordinate with transportation, sales, and customer service to keep orders moving on schedule

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of warehouse or distribution operations experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
  • Proven track record of reducing overtime and controlling labor costs
  • Strong scheduling and workforce planning skills
  • Comfortable with data: Excel/Google Sheets, timekeeping systems, and building simple reports
  • Clear communicator who can hold the team accountable and report upward to leadership
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, weekends, and peak-season hours

Pluses

  • Fresh produce, perishables, or cold chain experience
  • Experience with Famous Software or other produce industry systems
  • Experience with WMS and labor management tools
