Five Star Home Services is looking for an HVAC Install Assistant to work alongside experienced HVAC Install Leads installing heating and cooling systems in our customers' homes.


HVAC experience is not required. We're looking for someone who's dependable, mechanically inclined, comfortable working with their hands, and serious about learning a skilled trade.


You'll receive hands-on training while developing the technical skills needed to advance into an HVAC Installer and beyond.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As an HVAC Install Assistant, you'll work directly with an experienced Install Lead to remove existing heating and cooling equipment and install new residential HVAC systems.


You'll learn how to:

  • Assist with the removal and installation of residential furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and related HVAC equipment
  • Safely use HVAC tools, equipment, and materials
  • Assist with low- and line-voltage electrical connections
  • Install and prepare copper refrigerant lines, including learning proper brazing and soldering techniques
  • Assist with gas piping and equipment connections
  • Follow manufacturer specifications and Five Star installation standards
  • Protect customers' homes and maintain a clean, organized jobsite
  • Keep installation vehicles, tools, and materials organized and properly stocked
  • Work efficiently with your Install Lead to complete installations on schedule
  • Communicate professionally with customers and teammates
  • Participate in classroom, technical, and on-the-job training to continually develop your HVAC skills

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

No previous HVAC experience is required.


We're looking for someone who:

  • Is dependable and shows up ready to work and learn
  • Enjoys working with their hands and learning how things work
  • Can follow instructions and work effectively as part of a two-person or installation team
  • Pays attention to detail and takes pride in doing things correctly
  • Is comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, basements, and other residential environments
  • Can safely work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions
  • Can regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally assist with heavier equipment
  • Has a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Is comfortable using basic mobile technology and applications
  • Is willing to obtain EPA Section 608 Certification within 3–6 months of employment

Already have your EPA 608 Certification or some HVAC, construction, mechanical, electrical, or other skilled-trades experience? Even better—but it's not required.
