About Forte Global:
Forte Global is one of the world’s leading startups. We’re innovative, fast-growing, truly global, and with a clear mission: To reduce poverty and to unlock human potential at scale. Our goal is to help over 1 billion people around the world access free, high-quality education so they can reach their full potential and live lives with dignity.
We achieve our mission by being the backend engine that powers world-class retraining and upskilling. We manage retraining programs, finance training using an innovative approach, and build software to manage outcomes-based retraining programs.
We prioritize helping disadvantaged populations. Our work enables people to get quality jobs on good incomes, which in turn means they can support their families, have less financial stress, and build lasting careers. So far, we’ve helped over 15,000 people across 8 countries to get back on their feet and get ahead in life. And this is just the beginning.
The Forte Model / Approach:
What sets us apart is that neither individuals nor governments pay for the training. Instead, we've built an approach with as much impact as scholarships, but far more scalability.
Here's how the Forte Model works: Private investors, such as foundations and impact investors, cover the cost of training for disadvantaged people who otherwise couldn't access it. Those individuals pay nothing, now or ever. Because the training leads to greater employment and higher incomes, it generates more government income tax revenue. Governments then pass a portion of that added revenue back to investors (via Forte) for a set period, say 50% for 3 years. They're simply returning revenue they wouldn't otherwise have had.
It's a true win-win. For individuals, it's like a scholarship. They're given free education, no debt, and a way to get ahead. Governments help people without worsening the budget, and never pay for what doesn't work. Investors do well and do good at once, with perfect alignment between impact and return. We call it "trickle-up economics." And for education providers, including non-profits, it's a new business model that reduces reliance on donations and helps them scale.
Our Founder/CEO Nat Ware explains this groundbreaking idea in his TED talk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m99kA0UImyw.
Why Now:
Our work is needed now more than ever. AI is leading to massive job displacement and job disruption, so there will be a huge need for retraining. Current approaches are inadequate to meet the coming need. That’s the gap that Forte was built to close.
Forte's Backers:
Forte is backed and endorsed by many of the world’s leading institutions and investors. Forte is a UBS Global Visionary Company, won the Forbes Best Education Startup Competition, has been endorsed by the World Economic Forum. In addition, Forte is supported by Oxford University, Atlassian Foundation, Blackbird, GitLab Foundation, Draper Associates, Rockefeller Foundation, and many others.
About the role:
We’re hiring a Senior Project Manager to join our Delivery Team (one of the four main teams within Forte). We want an experienced leader and talented operator to lead our most ambitious retraining/upskilling programs.
At Forte, we are increasingly being asked to manage very large retraining programs. We will soon be managing training for hundreds of thousands of people. Maybe even millions.
As Senior Project Manager, you’ll be managing these large retraining initiatives from start to finish. This requires great leadership, organization, communication, technical understanding, and client management skills. You'll work with training providers, clients, and the operational reality of running programs that touch real people. It's more program delivery than product delivery.
The first few months in the role will include working directly with our Head of Delivery and CEO. From there, you’ll own your own projects and the clients that come with them. For the projects you are leading, you’ll be in charge of client relationships, training provider management, project timeline management, and the reporting of training outcomes. You’ll help us work faster, smarter, and more effectively.
