About the role

Fountain’s engineering team is working to make its existing products more capable and dependable as customer needs grow. In this role you’ll improve workflows across TypeScript, React, and Ruby on Rails, applying AI when it can improve product or engineering outcomes; you’ll work from an established roadmap with close Product and Design partners.

What you'll be doing

• Assess current workflows, reliability, and user feedback to identify product improvements with clear value
• Refine React and TypeScript interfaces so existing workflows are easier to use and maintain
• Strengthen Ruby on Rails services, APIs, and data handling to support stable product performance as usage grows
• Evaluate AI approaches against defined quality or efficiency measures and integrate them when results support product or engineering goals
• Coordinate technical delivery with Product, Design, and Engineering partners, communicating tradeoffs and sequencing changes against the roadmap
• Use tests, reviews, and production observations to reduce regressions and guide continued improvement

What you should bring

• Has improved production software through investigation, implementation, rollout, and follow-up
• Has maintained or extended Ruby on Rails applications, including backend service or API changes
• Has developed production React interfaces with TypeScript and kept them maintainable as features evolved
• Demonstrates AI knowledge through applied examples or a relevant certificate, and can judge when an approach is useful
• Has evaluated system design choices against reliability, maintainability, and delivery needs
• Has coordinated product engineering work with Product and Design partners around customer needs
• Has measured feature quality, reliability, or efficiency before and after a production change
• Has supported software used in high-volume or multi-step business workflows
• Has contributed shared standards or tooling that made releases more consistent across teams
