About FreshAhead, Inc.

FreshAhead runs daily operations across one of the largest fresh-cut produce ecosystems in the world. Fields, facilities, trucks, forecasts… our software lives in the physical world, where it either works or it doesn't.

What we're building

Underneath that is something more ambitious: Digital Objects, a new foundation for how software gets made. Less plumbing. More faithful representation of how businesses actually work. We're building the platform and the product at the same time.

Who we're looking for

Someone who gets restless when they don't understand why something works the way it does, regardless of how many years they've been at it. We care more about how you think and what you ship than about your title history. A strong early-career engineer and a seasoned one can both thrive here; what they'd have in common is ownership, curiosity, and craft.

You might be a fit if:

• You've built something end-to-end and can walk us through the tradeoffs you made and what you'd do differently.
• When something breaks or behaves unexpectedly, your first instinct is to dig in.
• You can take feedback without getting defensive, and you make the people around you better just by being engaged.
• You care about the craft (naming, structure, readability).
• You have enough Flutter/Dart experience to show us you can build.

What you'll do

• Build and ship Flutter features that real users depend on.
• Work through messy real-world workflows and turn them into clean, reliable product experiences.
• Give and take feedback through code reviews, pairing, and direct conversation; however much mentoring you need or offer depends on where you are.
• Ask good questions. Explain your reasoning. Show your work.

What this isn't

This isn't a role where we hand you a ticket and you implement it without thinking. We'll expect you to understand what you're building and why. We'll expect you to come back with questions. If something seems off, we want you to say so.
