Position Overview: We are seeking an entry-level Workstation Technician to join our internal IT team in Framingham. This role handles laptop setup, deployment, and first-line support for Harbor IT employees. You are the first point of contact for new hires on day one, when they log into their laptop and SaaS accounts for the first time, so the work combines hands-on technical setup with internal customer service. It is a strong entry point for a recent technical-program graduate or a self-taught PC builder who wants to break into a national MSP and grow a career in IT.

Location: Based in Framingham, MA office 5 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

Endpoint Setup & Deployment

·       Set up new laptops for incoming employees using imaging tools such as Microsoft Intune or equivalent

·       Deploy software packages through ImmyBot

·       Replace aging laptops across the existing employee fleet

Shipping & Receiving

·       Receive laptop orders and confirm inventory against purchase records

·       Ship configured devices to new and existing employees

·       Process laptop returns from offboarded employees, including wipe and retirement

Internal Support

·       Provide first-line laptop support to internal employees

·       Guide new hires through first-time login to their laptop and SaaS accounts on day one

Qualifications:

Familiarity with basic IT tasks, including workstation setup and imaging.

Strong proficiency in:

·       Windows and common productivity and SaaS tools

·       Basic device setup and configuration

·       Clear written and verbal communication

·       A professional presence and comfort being the face of IT for new employees.

·       Attention to detail and reliable follow-through on device tracking and shipping.

Preferred Qualifications:

·       CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification

·       Hands-on experience with Intune, ImmyBot, or similar deployment tools

·       Background building or repairing PCs

·       Graduate of a technical program or equivalent hands-on experience

Physical Requirements:

This role involves regular shipping and receiving. You should be able to lift and move boxes of up to 50 pounds and remain on-site for the full workday.
