Job Description:

We seek a curious, proactive, and technically capable Semi-Senior QA Software Engineer with strong foundations in exploratory testing and hands-on use of AI-assisted Quality Engineering tools. We value people who question assumptions, investigate defects, and steadily expand their technical independence.

The initial focus is our Hotels product, testing features, business scenarios, and integrations. Over time, the role may support Frontend Engineering, existing automation, and backup QA coverage across teams, with responsibilities expanding as product knowledge and experience grow. We value selecting the right testing technique rather than labeling work as exclusively manual or automated.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Engineering & Integration

  • Design and execute functional, exploratory, integration, and regression tests for web and mobile applications, using agreed risk priorities.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to clarify requirements, acceptance criteria, edge cases, and defects; communicate progress and blockers promptly.
  • Test REST APIs and backend behavior; investigate frontend/backend issues using developer tools, logs, network requests, and API responses, seeking guidance on complex problems.
  • Participate in cross-team end-to-end testing and help identify what can be validated before full frontend integration.

AI-Augmented Quality Engineering

  • Apply AI assistants in everyday testing to explore test ideas, investigate defects, understand technical behavior, and support small automation tasks.
  • Critically check AI-generated outputs, protect confidential information, and share practical AI-assisted learnings.

Automation, Collaboration & Adaptability

  • Execute and troubleshoot existing automated tests; make small updates with guidance and collaborate with the QA Automation team.
  • Build Hotels and Frontend knowledge, improve testing practices and documentation, and provide backup coverage in areas where appropriately trained.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years in Software QA, including hands-on functional and exploratory testing of web applications.
  • Practical API testing experience (e.g., Postman) and understanding of HTTP, REST APIs, and client-server basics.Ability to reproduce and investigate defects using developer tools, logs, network requests, and API responses; familiarity with risk-based test design.
  • Ability to execute and diagnose existing automated tests, with willingness to make small changes with support.
  • Demonstrated hands-on use of generative AI in testing or technical tasks, including critical validation of results and responsible data handling.
  • Clear communication, collaboration, willingness to learn, and intermediate-to-advanced written and spoken English.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to Playwright, Cypress, or automated API/integration testing.
  • AI coding assistants, reusable AI-assisted workflows, or emerging agent-based tools.
  • SQL, mobile testing, CI/CD tools, Jira, and test management systems.
  • Familiarity with frontend architecture or experience in travel, hospitality, e-commerce, or transactional platforms.

What Success Looks Like

Become a dependable contributor to Hotels testing: independently validate well-defined features, explore meaningful edge cases, test APIs, and escalate risks and dependencies early. With support on complex integrations, grow toward contributing to automation, AI-assisted improvements, cross-team testing, and backup coverage for familiar product areas.

Why Join Us?

  • Work on travel technology used by airline employees around the world.
  • Collaborate with experienced Engineering, Product, and QA professionals.
  • Contribute to meaningful improvements in software quality and delivery practices.
  • Build experience across frontend, backend, integration testing, and AI-assisted engineering.
  • Join a collaborative environment that values curiosity, continuous learning, and shared responsibility for quality.
  • Have the opportunity to extend the engagement or potentially transition into a long-term position with ID90 Travel.
