Instrumentum

Facilities Coordinator

WHAT WE DO

Instrumentum is an innovative provider of off-site surgical instrument sterilization, transportation, storage, and loaner tray logistics, serving health systems and ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs). With the recent acquisitions of early market movers in this space, we are growing a national footprint with a mission to disrupt a traditionally fragmented and under digitized sterile processing industry.  We are scaling rapidly to address the rising demand for elective surgeries and streamlined sterile processing services.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

Sterilization Processing Departments (SPDs) are one of the most important and yet most overlooked areas of a hospital or surgery center.  This is a critical and growing problem as staffing shortages, poorly maintained facilities, and failure to adhere to the standards required to ensure patient and staff safety are increasing costs and potentially putting lives at risk.  Even though sterilization is central to providing surgeries, it is often an afterthought for most facilities. The people that work in the SPD know it, and the deteriorating morale of the SPD workforce is adding to the decrease in sterilization competency.

Sterilization is ALL we do.  Our people are the core of our company, and we treat them accordingly – like the rockstars they are.  We’ve invested heavily in our facilities, equipment, and processes, and we do it right.  Every time.  We hire the best, and we don’t have to look far.  The best SPD technicians and coordinators love what they do, and they want to work in a place where they are valued.  That place is Instrumentum.

WHAT WE NEED

We need the person who treats the facility like it’s their own.

The Facilities Coordinator is the operational backbone of our site – the steady hand behind the systems that keep sterile processing running without interruption. In our world, uptime isn’t a preference. It’s patient safety. When steam drops, pressure fluctuates, or water systems fail, surgeries are impacted. That cannot happen.

This role owns the heartbeat of the building: steam, boilers, water systems, HVAC, compressed air, electrical infrastructure, and the mechanical systems that power our operation. You understand how all of it connects. You anticipate issues before they become problems. You fix what others overlook. And when something goes down, you move.

This is not a desk job. It’s not a clipboard-only management role. It’s a hands-on, plant-level leadership position in a 24/7 production environment. You are comfortable carrying the responsibility that comes with that. You build preventive systems. You hold vendors accountable. You step in when needed. You take pride in a facility that runs clean, safe, and without excuses.

If you’ve managed equipment-intensive operations before – especially in environments where steam, water, and compliance matter – you already understand the weight of this role.
