Lavender is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Temporary Credentialing Coordinator / Administrative Assistant to support a focused payer directory and provider profile audit project.

The primary responsibility of this role will be reviewing Lavender providers across commercial insurance payer directories, identifying inaccurate, incomplete, or missing information, and working directly with payers to have those records corrected.

This is a temporary project-based role expected to last approximately one month, with the potential to extend to just under three months depending on project needs. The role will be highly focused on completing the provider audit and correction project efficiently and accurately.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys detail-oriented administrative work, is comfortable navigating insurance payer systems, and can independently work through a high volume of similar tasks while maintaining excellent accuracy and organization.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Conduct a comprehensive audit of provider profiles across commercial insurance payer directories.
  • Review provider information including:
    • Provider name and credentials
    • Specialty
    • Practice location and address
    • Phone and contact information
    • Website information
    • Telehealth status
    • Group affiliation
    • Other provider demographic information
  • Identify missing, inaccurate, outdated, or inconsistent information.
  • Document discrepancies and corrections in a centralized tracking spreadsheet.
  • Navigate payer portals and directories to update provider information where possible.
  • Research the appropriate payer process or contact when information cannot be updated directly through a portal.
  • Contact insurance companies, provider services teams, credentialing departments, and other appropriate payer representatives to request corrections.
  • Complete payer forms, portal submissions, email requests, and other administrative processes required to update provider records.
  • Track each correction request from initial identification through submission, follow-up, and resolution.
  • Document reference numbers, payer contacts, dates, submission details, and outcomes.
  • Follow up on outstanding requests to ensure corrections are completed.
  • Escalate issues that may indicate a larger credentialing, contracting, or provider affiliation concern.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, outstanding items, and completed corrections.
  • Assist the Credentialing team with additional administrative tasks related to the project as needed.

What You Bring

  • Previous experience in healthcare credentialing, provider enrollment, medical billing, revenue cycle, payer relations, or healthcare administration is preferred.
  • Familiarity with commercial insurance payers such as UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Humana, and similar plans is a plus.
  • Experience navigating payer portals or provider directories is strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable communicating with insurance companies by phone and email and following issues through to resolution.
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in provider information.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of repetitive administrative tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and stay organized in a remote environment.
  • Resourceful and comfortable researching solutions when a payer's process is not immediately clear.
  • Comfortable learning and navigating different payer processes quickly.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means efficiently completing a comprehensive audit of Lavender's current provider payer profiles and actively working identified discrepancies toward resolution.

By the end of the project, we aim to have:

  • A clear record of how each provider is represented across their commercial payer networks.
  • All identified discrepancies documented and tracked.
  • Corrections submitted to payers wherever necessary.
  • Outstanding issues followed up on and documented.
  • A clear record of unresolved issues and any larger credentialing or contracting concerns identified during the audit.

Why You Should Join Lavender

  • A mission-driven company transforming access to mental healthcare.
  • Fully remote work environment.
  • Supportive and collaborative teammates.
  • An international team that values diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • The opportunity to contribute to an important operational project with a clear and tangible outcome.
  • Opportunity to gain experience working with healthcare payers and provider data.
