Lead Surge - Job Opening

AI Business Process Analyst

AI Business Process Analyst

Job Summary:

The AI Business Process Analyst is the organizational lens through which AI opportunities are identified, mapped, and prioritized. This role is responsible for conducting a comprehensive review of every department and its associated workflows understanding how work gets done today and synthesizing those findings into clear, actionable insights that guide AI implementation.

This person bridges the gap between business operations and technology, translating what they observe on the ground into structured recommendations the team can act on. This is not a coding role. It is a critical thinking, process design, and communication role. The ideal candidate is naturally curious, operationally sharp, and skilled at earning trust quickly across departments because the quality of their output depends entirely on what people are willing to share with them.

Candidates with a consulting background are strongly encouraged to apply. The ability to enter an unfamiliar organization, rapidly build context, and produce structured insights under time pressure is directly applicable to this work.

Our AI Business Process Analyst will abide by SOC 2 data security controls.

Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Process Discovery & Mapping

Review current documented workflows of every department to familiarize the current state processes from intake to output.

Interview team leads and individual contributors to understand workflows, where handoffs occur, and where friction or inefficiency exists

Fine tune workflows and documentation to accurately represent how the business operates today

Identify redundant steps, manual bottlenecks, and areas where data, decisions, or actions are repeated unnecessarily

AI Opportunity Identification

Evaluate documented processes through the lens of AI applicability, identifying where automation, prediction, summarization, or augmentation could drive meaningful improvement

Prioritize opportunities based on business impact, implementation feasibility, and cross-functional dependencies

Build a structured backlog of AI use cases with supporting context, process documentation, and expected outcomes

Stay current on how AI is being applied across marketing, media, operations, and analytics, bringing relevant examples and frameworks to internal discussions

Cross-Functional Partnership

Work closely with the AI Solutions Architect to translate process insights into technically actionable briefs

Partner with department leaders to validate findings, pressure-test assumptions, and align on priorities before solutions are designed

Serve as an internal advocate for operational clarity helping teams articulate pain points they may not yet have language for

Implementation Support

Support change management efforts by documenting how new AI-assisted processes will differ from current-state workflows

Assist in the development of training materials, SOPs, and adoption guides that help teams transition into new ways of working

Track implementation progress and flag where a solution is deviating from its original operational intent

Required Skills/Abilities:

Experience: 5- 8 years of experience in business process analysis, management consulting, operations strategy, or a closely related field

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, or a related field required; Equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree will be considered

Demonstrated experience in business process analysis, operations management, or management consulting, with a track record of entering organizations and building rapid operational context

Strong working knowledge of AI options, capabilities and limitations, enough to recognize where AI can and cannot help, without requiring a technical background

Ability to quickly learn how a business operates and identify where change will have the most meaningful impact

Excellent communication and facilitation skills, comfortable leading discovery sessions, presenting findings to senior stakeholders, and translating complexity into plain language

All applicants should be well versed in working within SOC 2 data security requirements

Experience working in performance-driven environments; familiarity with media, marketing, or lead generation is a plus

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a large body of process documentation across multiple departments simultaneously

How We Hire for This Role

We prioritize demonstrated experience and data driven results rather than spoken of expertise. Candidates will be expected to show, not just describe, what they have built. During the interview process, we will ask you to walk us through process work you have personally produced, the specific changes that resulted, and the measurable outcomes those changes drove.

Physical demands:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
