Country Manager - South Korea

About the role

As the Country Manager for South Korea, you will lead all sales and business development activities in Korea, while driving engagement with Korea-based multinational companies globally.

As the first hire in South Korea, you will play a key role in establishing and growing our presence in the market.

You will collaborate tightly with product team and content team to optimize LegalOn Product to Korean market (e.g., UI in Korean, document review in South Korea, partnership with legal database providers in Korea, M&A of local entities).


What you'll do

Sales

  • Responsible to all aspects of revenue generating activities in Korea, including,
    • Lead generation
    • Client presentation
    • Deal closing
  • Depending on the progress of business development, we can build a team of 2-3 people in the first 12 months.

Client Solutions & Advisory

  • Engage directly with legal professionals (in-house teams, law firms, regulators, academia) to understand their legal and operational challenges and to help them designing workflows and frameworks for their legal operations (both pre-sales and post-sales)
  • Lead and execute bespoke legal consulting projects for APAC users, specifically focusing on the creation and optimization of customized contract review playbooks tailored to individual client needs and jurisdictional requirements.

Market & Product Influence

  • Provide strategic market insights and legal domain expertise to influence LegalOn’s product strategy and roadmap with the needs of Korean enterprises.
  • Produce and co-develop thought leadership content, best practices, case studies, and regional legal insights in collaboration with Go-to-Market and Product teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with global content, product, marketing, and sales teams across Singapore, San Francisco, and Japan to translate customer needs into actionable priorities.
  • Support localized enablement activities, platform educational initiatives, workshops, and user engagements across APAC.

Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystem Growth

  • Identify, build, and deepen partnerships with key stakeholders across the APAC legal ecosystem (law firms, channel partners, legal associations, regulators, and academia).
  • Collaborate with partners to enrich LegalOn’s platforms with high-quality data, localized legal content, expert knowledge, and jurisdictional insights that improve product relevance and competitiveness.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for LegalOn across key APAC markets to increase visibility, credibility, and adoption.


Qualifications

Mandatory Qualifications

  • At least one of below
    • 4+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE) as a practicing lawyer in a law firm, in-house legal department, regulatory body, or academic institution within an Korean jurisdiction.
    • 5+ years of experience as an account executive in enterprise software / legal services in Korea.
    • 4+ years of experience as a business consultant at leading business consulting firms.
  • Deep understanding of legal workflows and challenges faced by legal professionals in corporate, regulatory, or practice environments.
  • Native level Korean
  • Business level English

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in legal tech, AI adoption, or technology partnerships.
  • Experience working with regulators or academia to build legal workflows, data curation, or knowledge frameworks.
  • Fluency in Chinese or Japanese
