PURPOSE:

In cooperation with the Student Affairs team and the other Community Life Fellows, this person will develop, plan, coordinate, and implement events that support community life at Luther Seminary while also providing administrative support for the office.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develop, plan, coordinate, and implement community events, both in-person and virtual,ly that support community life at Luther Seminary.
  2. Provide leadership and support for special campus events and projects on campus, including partnering with other offices and student groups. Events include Orientation and Commencement.
  3. Serve as administrative support in-person for the Student Affairs office for 6-8 hours/week. Duties include office hospitality, managing email communication, and special projects as assigned by the Student Affairs staff.
  4. Seminary Grocery Assistance Program
    1. Responsible for placing Grocery Assistance orders through Instacart 
    2. Respond to student questions about grocery assistance
    3. Pack food orders
    4. Pick up orders from CES food shelf
    5. Tracking general usage
  5. Attend weekly Community Life Fellow meetings
  6. Ensure confidentiality and adherence to FERPA guidelines.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Be a currently enrolled student in good standing at Luther Seminary.
  2. Developed a sense of responsibility and creative problem-solving skills.
  3. Demonstrated event management and organizational skills.
  4. Experience working in customer service environments.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated intercultural competence.
  6. Ability to work with multiple deadlines and ask questions as needed.
  7. Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  8. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and comfortable with Google Drive.
  9. Ability to participate in some events outside 'normal' business hours (i.e., evenings/weekends).
