The Head of Human Resources is responsible for leading, managing and continuously developing the HR function for the entities across Vortex International which currently have a UK and European presence totaling approximately 450 employees and a HR team of 5. This includes overseeing organisational design, talent management and performance, training and development, staff services (including payroll, pensions and insurance) leading administrative reviews and complaint processes and HR policy and strategy coordination. The Head of Human Resources will also ensure effective and consistent support across the business through a shared services model.


Key Responsibilities

  • Align HR strategies with the organisation’s overall business objectives.
  • Lead a team of HR professionals to run hiring, developing, and retaining operations.
  • Hold regular meetings with regional leaders to discuss and report on HR metrics (turnover, performance, compensation analysis).
  • Conduct analysis of HR data to evaluate the effectiveness of HR processes, determine areas to improve, and make data-driven HR decisions.
  • Oversee recruiting practices, and recruit for high level complicated roles
  • Oversee regional onboarding and ensure best practices are being followed.
  • Oversee investigations into personnel disputes and make recommendations based on findings.
  • Oversee enrollment of employee benefits and pensions.
  • Ensure staffing changes are carried out in compliance with legal statues and align with company culture which may include layoffs, resignations, terminations, and extended leaves of absence.
  • Leads regional annual talent review process and 9 box discussions.
  • Support regional information meetings such as leadership training, company announcements, regional events.
  • Stays current on HR trends to develop solutions using current best practices.
  • Conducts or assists with record audits and reports, which may include Home Office audits, employment filings, payroll audits, and other compliance reviews.
  • Oversees off boarding efforts including exit interviews when applicable.
  • Ensures compliance of regional employment laws and regulations.
  • Works closely with regional leadership and makes site visits as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, such as designing and implementing HR initiatives.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of HR experience as a Generalist, Manager and leading people.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent HR/business experience.
  • HR certification preferred.
  • Experience with various Human Resources Information Systems.

  • Communicate HR policies effectively, role model for building good working relationships, must be able to collaborate and establish rapport with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to influence outcomes through human resources knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of laws and regulations to help the company stay in compliance.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising essential tasks, and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to develop and monitor the budget of the HR department.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
