This role will ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of our financial statements while building the processes, controls, and systems needed to support continued growth.

You will be a hands-on leader who can move comfortably between technical accounting, operational execution, team development, and cross-functional partnership. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building structure, and is equally willing to lead and roll up their sleeves.

What You Will Do

Lead Month-End Close and Technical Accounting

  • Own and lead the full month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process across AP, AR, revenue, inventory, R&D, fixed assets, accruals, and other key areas
  • Prepare, review, and approve complex journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Ensure all balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled with appropriate supporting documentation
  • Maintain and improve close timelines while driving accuracy and efficiency
  • Prepare technical accounting analyses and memos for complex transactions

Own Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Statement of Cash Flows
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies
  • Perform detailed variance analysis against budget and forecast, identifying key business drivers
  • Deliver executive-ready monthly and quarterly reporting packages
  • Partner closely with FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning

Strengthen Internal Controls, SOX, and Compliance

  • Design, document, implement, and test SOX-aligned internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, federal and state tax requirements, and internal policies
  • Lead coordination of external audits and support regulatory examinations
  • Proactively identify and mitigate financial statement risk through strong controls and documentation

Optimize Processes and Systems

  • Optimize ERP workflows, with QuickBooks and Netsuite strongly preferred, to enhance efficiency and shorten close cycles
  • Lead system enhancements, new module implementations, and finance-related integrations
  • Improve reconciliation processes, reporting automation, and financial visibility
  • Implement workflow automation tools to increase productivity and reduce manual processes
  • Serve as the finance lead for ERP upgrades, new module implementations, and system integrations

Lead and Develop the Accounting Team

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop two to three accounting professionals, including staff accountants and AP/AR specialists
  • Establish performance goals and provide ongoing coaching and technical guidance
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
  • Provide training on technical accounting topics and evolving GAAP standards

Provide Strategic and Ad Hoc Support

  • Support investment due diligence, M&A activities, and special projects
  • Assist with board and investor reporting as needed
  • Perform other accounting- and finance-related responsibilities as assigned

Your Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years of people management experience
  • Close Ownership: Demonstrated ownership of full-cycle month-end close and financial statement preparation in a U.S. GAAP environment
  • Technical Accounting: Strong technical accounting knowledge under U.S. GAAP
  • SaaS Experience: Experience in a SaaS or subscription-based revenue environment is strongly preferred
  • Systems and Tools: Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling; proficiency in Google Sheets; and hands-on ERP experience, with QuickBooks strongly preferred
  • Automation: Experience with workflow automation and accounting systems
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to translate financial data into actionable insights, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to partner cross-functionally with operations, sales, and leadership teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active CPA license, or actively pursuing a CPA license, is strongly preferred
  • Experience with multi-entity or international consolidations
  • Knowledge of transfer pricing and intercompany eliminations
  • Experience supporting private equity-backed or venture-backed companies
