Mytra

Engineering Technician I

About Mytra:

We’re creating an entirely new way to solve the most ubiquitous problem in industry - moving and storing material. We’re applying robotics and distributed software to create a new class of product for this $1T market. We’re focused on the supply chain industry first. The industry is in a massive bind with the continued growth of e-commerce, sharp rise in costs, and supply chain disruptions. What has been a “sleepy” industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.

About the role

As an Engineering Technician I at Mytra, you will join our Manufacturing Engineering team during a period of rapid scaling and production growth. This is an entry-to-junior level role focused on executing structured, well-defined assembly and production tasks under direct supervision. You will work closely with senior technicians and engineers to learn our processes, maintain an efficient workspace, and ensure hardware is built to strict quality and safety standards.

What you’ll do:

  • Support Production Continuity: Execute structured, routine assembly workflows under close direction. Assist in identifying obvious line blocks and escalate technical issues promptly to senior team members.
  • Execute Processes: Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) with high accuracy and care. Record simple logs, production data, and basic technical documentation accurately.
  • Support Workflow Efficiency: Contributes positively to team productivity by reliably delivering assigned work, maintaining a steady pace while prioritizing attention to quality and detail.
  • Maintain Production Assets: Operate basic shop equipment under supervision, assist with routine preventive maintenance tasks, and help keep tooling inventory organized.
  • Execute Hardware Builds: Assist in building product prototypes according to established documentation and step-by-step engineering instructions.
  • Collaborate & Learn: Communicate respectfully and clearly with supervisors and peers. Ask clarifying questions to understand instructions, and actively engage in learning Mytra’s technical standards.

Ideal Candidates

  • Have basic hands-on experience or vocational training in mechanical assembly, using standard hand/power tools, and a foundational ability to read technical drawings or blueprints.
  • Have an interest or basic experience in fabrication, and comfort working around structural components or heavy machinery.
  • Are eager to learn and use standard Metrology & Inspection tools (like calipers and micrometers) to complete simple, routine measurements accurately.
  • Have a High School Diploma, trade school certificate, or Associate degree with 0–2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or prototyping environment.
  • Prioritize Safety First: Strictly follow safety standards with oversight, demonstrate good spatial awareness (relative to overhead hazards and moving equipment), and maintain a clean, organized work environment (5S).
  • Are physically capable of lifting up to 40 pounds and remaining mobile throughout the facility.
  • Are comfortable working at heights and open to learning basic rigging safety (slings, shackles, hooks, etc.).
  • Are comfortable navigating modern digital tools (Google Suite) and open to being trained on manufacturing software systems (ERP/MRP/PLM) like Arena or Linear.

Nice to have:

  • Equipment Familiarity: Basic experience or exposure to forklifts, scissor lifts, or boom lifts.
  • Electronics Basic Knowledge: Familiarity with simple wire routing, cable management, or basic electronics.
  • Workplace Standards: A foundational understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts or working in an ISO 9001 environment.

A Final Note:

If this role excites you, we encourage you to apply — even if you don’t check every box. At Mytra, we build bots, but we hire humans. We value thoughtful challengers who communicate with clarity and respect, and we’re lifelong learners committed to getting better every day. We move fast, learn faster, and show up for each other under pressure. The best outcomes come from diverse perspectives working together to build something meaningful and built to last
