What You’ll Actually Do

As a Territory Manager at NOCD, you will be responsible for growing access to specialized OCD treatment by building strong referral partnerships with healthcare providers across your assigned territory. This is a field-based healthcare sales role for someone who enjoys being out in the community, building relationships, solving problems, and translating those relationships into measurable business results.

You will serve as a strategic partner to psychiatrists, behavioral health service line leaders, outpatient clinic managers, and specialized therapy teams within university health systems. Your job is to help these providers identify complex or under-recognized OCD cases, understand the clinical rigor of specialized Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy, and seamlessly integrate NOCD into their institutional care pathways.

Your success is measured not just by the number of providers you meet, but by your ability to build a consistent network of providers who refer patients to NOCD and help more people access effective care.

This is an autonomous, performance-driven role. You will have the freedom to determine how best to grow your territory, but you will also be accountable for the activity, strategy, and results required to make that growth happen.

Build and Execute a Territory Growth Strategy

  • Take ownership of your territory as if it were your own business. Identify high-potential academic psychiatric departments, specialty outpatient clinics, and health systems where NOCD can serve as an essential clinical partner to expand access and alleviate patient waitlists.
  • Use provider data, referral trends, market intelligence, and insurance coverage information to prioritize your time and focus on the opportunities most likely to drive patient growth.
  • Develop a strategic weekly schedule that balances new provider outreach, face-to-face meetings, follow-up, and relationship development with existing referral partners.
  • Spend significant time in the field meeting providers in their offices, attending practice meetings, and developing relationships throughout your market.
  • Continuously evaluate territory performance, identify gaps, and adjust your approach to ensure you are on track to meet monthly patient referral and conversion goals.

Educate Providers and Change Referral Behavior

  • Lead meaningful, consultative conversations with healthcare professionals about OCD, common symptoms, barriers to diagnosis, and the importance of evidence-based treatment.
  • Educate providers on Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard psychotherapy for OCD, and explain how NOCD complements existing medication management, therapy, and treatment relationships.
  • Help providers recognize patients who may benefit from specialized OCD treatment, including those whose symptoms may be overlooked, misunderstood, or inadequately addressed through their current care plan.
  • Tailor your message to each provider’s specialty, patient population, clinical workflow, and practice needs rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all sales pitch.
  • Address questions and objections around insurance coverage, access to care, virtual treatment, patient engagement, and how referrals work.

Turn Relationships Into Consistent Patient Referrals

  • Build relationships that lead to action. Your goal is to help providers move from understanding what NOCD offers to confidently recommending NOCD to appropriate patients.
  • Make the referral process simple by providing practical tools, clear instructions, patient education materials, and guidance on how to introduce specialized OCD treatment during a clinical visit.
  • Develop account-level strategies that increase referrals from existing partners, reengage providers who have stopped referring, and activate providers who have expressed interest but have not yet sent a patient.
  • Follow up consistently after meetings to reinforce education, address operational barriers, share relevant updates, and encourage providers to take the next step.
  • Build relationships across multiple clinicians and decision-makers within larger practices and health systems to create durable referral partnerships that are not dependent on a single contact.

Own the Entire Sales Cycle

  • Manage the full business development process, from prospecting and initial outreach through provider education, referral commitment, activation, and ongoing account growth.
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective and existing referral partners, with clear next steps and follow-up plans for every meaningful interaction.
  • Set and manage your calendar to prioritize high-value conversations and maintain consistent weekly activity.
  • Track provider meetings, referral activity, patient registrations, and conversions using NOCD’s CRM and reporting tools.
  • Take accountability for monthly performance goals, identify when results are falling behind pace, and implement corrective action plans rather than waiting until the end of the month.
  • Use coaching, feedback, and performance data to continuously improve your sales approach, territory strategy, and ability to generate results.

Collaborate to Improve the Patient and Provider Experience

  • Partner with internal teams to help ensure referred patients understand their options, can navigate the intake process, and have a clear path to accessing care.
  • Communicate provider feedback, referral barriers, and market trends to leadership and cross-functional partners so NOCD can continuously improve its services and partnerships.
  • Help strengthen existing relationships by closing the loop with referring providers appropriately, sharing relevant updates, and reinforcing confidence in NOCD as a trusted clinical partner.
  • Represent NOCD professionally in the community, building credibility through clinical knowledge, responsiveness, follow-through, and a genuine commitment to patient outcomes.

What Success Looks Like

  • You consistently meet or exceed monthly patient referral and conversion goals.
  • You build a strong network of active providers who refer patients consistently, not just a large list of contacts.
  • You increase referral activity within existing accounts while continuously developing new business.
  • You prioritize your time based on opportunity, data, and demonstrated referral potential.
  • You demonstrate strong follow-through, reliable pipeline management, and the ability to turn coaching into improved performance.
  • You become a trusted resource for healthcare professionals seeking specialized OCD treatment for their patients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2+ years of professional experience meeting or exceeding expectations.
  • A lifelong learner who takes feedback as fuel. You don’t need to know everything about healthcare sales on day one, but you must be ready to learn quickly.
  • A purpose-driven professional who wants daily work to have a tangible impact, connecting sales performance to better patient access and outcomes.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% within the assigned territory.

Compensation

This is a base salary plus monthly commission, uncapped role with Year 1 on-target earnings of $120,000+.

Shape the Future of OCD Care

Join NOCD and help lead a movement that’s redefining mental health treatment. If you bring a Challenger mindset and a passion for improving patient outcomes, we want to hear from you.
