About the role

We are seeking a Healthcare Business Analyst with a strong foundation in data analysis and a proven ability to independently analyze, interpret, and communicate insights from complex healthcare datasets. This role is ideal for someone with a few years of hands-on experience who can perform deep-dive analyses, uncover trends, and translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights with minimal guidance.  Exposure to business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is preferred. This role is currently focused on analytical support and data interpretation; however, there may be future opportunities to assist with the enhancement and automation of recurring reporting processes. 

The ideal candidate brings prior healthcare industry experience and is comfortable working across large datasets to support decision-making, improve processes, and drive outcomes.

What you'll do

  • Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities within healthcare datasets  
  • Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets  
  • Develop analytical reporting solutions and dashboards that support operational and financial decision-making  
  • Communicate trends, variances, and performance results to technical and non-technical stakeholders 
  • Partner with business teams to understand needs and deliver data-driven recommendations  
  • Create and maintain process documentation for data workflows, reporting logic, and methodologies  
  • Perform monthly refresh validations, variance identification, and root cause analysis across reporting and analytic outputs 
  • Investigate data anomalies, reconcile discrepancies, and independently troubleshoot reporting issues 
  • Support the standardization and ongoing improvement of reporting logic and methodologies  
  • Work independently to prioritize and manage multiple analytic requests in a fast-paced environment 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 
     

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in a healthcare data analytics role  
  • Strong proficiency in SQL (required)  
  • Advanced Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and data validation techniques (required)  
  • Experience using Python for analytics, automation, or data processing (preferred)  
  • Ability to independently perform analyses, identify trends/issues, and present findings with minimal oversight  
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including evaluating downstream data impacts across departments  
  • Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences  
  • Demonstrated ability to create clear and structured process documentation  
  • Solid understanding of healthcare data (claims, clinical, operational, or similar), including Medicare and Medicare Advantage data  
  • Familiarity with healthcare performance metrics, quality measures, and cost/utilization analysis  
  • Exposure to value-based care models such as ACOs is a plus, but not required  
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred

Compensation

  • We offer a competitive base salary ranging from $95,000 - $105,000 per year.
