CNC Operator (DFW)

About Patriot Erectors, LLC

Patriot Erectors is a full-service, AISC-Certified Steel Fabricator and AISC-Certified Advanced Steel Erector. Since 1991, from our modern 60,000-square-foot facility just west of Austin, Texas, we’ve fabricated and erected structural steel for complex buildings and non-building structures — with a relentless focus on quality, safety, and pride in every project.

We’re a people-first company built on five values we call STEEL — Safety, Teamwork, Ethics, Enthusiasm, and Leadership. Our vision: Recognize a Need & Fulfill It.

Every job starts with your cut.

Raw steel rolls in; precise, piece-marked parts roll out. As a CNC Operator at our Cleburne shop, you make the first cut on everything Patriot builds in DFW — and when your cut is right, the whole job runs right.

Why Patriot — Not the Other Guys

Steady shop work, not gig work. Full-time hours with overtime available — for a company that’s been building Texas since 1991.

Your cut leads the whole job. Fitters, welders, and field crews all build on the parts you produce — precision here is precision everywhere.

Benefits hourly shop roles rarely get. Free, confidential mental-health support (Nivati EAP) for you and your family, Blue Points wellness rewards, pet insurance, a 401(k) match, and the Craig Cobb College Scholarship.

Safety first — it’s the S in STEEL. Proper PPE, real protocols, and a culture that protects its people.

Room to rise. CNC today can grow into lead, programming, or fitting roles — with Udemy training and a multi-division Texas company behind you.

About the Role

Working from pre-nested cut cards, you’ll convert raw shape steel into semi-finished parts for fabrication. Every cut starts with the card: you’ll read, understand, and verify the type, size, and weight of beam, the cut length, and the heat number before the saw ever touches steel.

What You’ll Do

Verify First: Confirm the material matches the cut card — type, size, weight, length, and heat number — before every cut.

Run the Machine: Work off pre-nested cut sheets, using manual and CNC measuring to cut material square

and to length a tape measure is your best friend.

G-Code: Understand, interpret, and edit G-code programming as the work requires.

Tooling: Recognize, deploy, and properly use inserts, fixtures, and tooling — and keep inserts in working condition.

Mark & Stage: Piece-mark and identify steel per job; stack material safely and stage it for the next operation.

Material Handling: Load and unload the machine with an overhead crane; mark up drops and return them to stock.

Maintain: Perform daily cleaning and light maintenance on the CNC machinery.

Quality: Comply with all quality policies, specifications, and instructions — and know your material types (WF, TS, CH, L).
