Safety, Warehouse & Fabrication Supervisor

Department: Operations Reports To: Residential Ops Manager Position Type: Full-Time Location: Peerless Fence Group

Position Summary

The Safety, Warehouse & Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day execution of safety, fabrication, vinyl post production, warehouse organization, inventory support, and other tasks as needed within Peerless Fence Group's centralized yard.

Reporting directly to the Residential Ops manager, this position is a hands-on working supervisor responsible for ensuring that gates, CNC posts, materials, and jobs are fabricated, organized, and staged accurately and on time.

The successful candidate will be highly organized, hands-on, safety-minded, and comfortable holding people accountable for productivity, quality, and following established processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Safety Leadership

· Serve as the daily safety leader within the warehouse, fabrication, and yard areas.

· Enforce Peerless safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.

· Conduct daily safety checks of work areas, equipment, material storage, and employee work practices.

· Identify and correct unsafe conditions immediately.

· Conduct or assist with toolbox talks and safety meetings.

· Ensure employees are properly trained before operating equipment.

· Monitor safe forklift, material-handling, loading, unloading, and fabrication practices.

· Report accidents, near misses, injuries, and property damage promptly to the Yard Manager.

· Participate in accident/incident investigations and corrective actions.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

· Partner with Peerless Training & Compliance resources on required safety training.

Primary objective: Zero preventable injuries and a consistently safe, organized yard.

2. Gate Fabrication

· Supervise daily production of residential and commercial gates.

· Review the production schedule and establish daily fabrication priorities.

· Ensure gates are fabricated according to approved dimensions, specifications, and job requirements.

· Inspect completed gates for quality and accuracy before staging.

· Track completed gates versus daily and weekly requirements.

· Identify fabrication bottlenecks and communicate issues to the Yard Manager.

· Minimize rework, scrap, incorrect fabrication, and installation delays.

· Maintain proper organization of gate components and fabrication materials.

· Train employees on standardized fabrication procedures.

· Cross-train team members to create flexibility and reduce dependence on individual employees.

Primary objective: Produce the right gate, correctly and on time, the first time.

3. CNC Vinyl Post Production

· Supervise daily CNC vinyl post production and workflow.

· Prioritize CNC work based on upcoming installation requirements.

· Ensure posts are produced according to approved specifications.

· Verify quantities, dimensions, labeling, and job identification.

· Inspect completed CNC posts before release to staging.

· Track production output and turnaround time.

· Identify CNC errors, rework, equipment issues, or production bottlenecks.

· Coordinate preventative maintenance and report equipment problems to the Yard Manager.

· Maintain organized CNC work areas and raw material storage.

· Develop and maintain standard work procedures for CNC production.

Primary objective: Deliver accurate CNC posts to the correct job, on schedule.

4. Warehouse & Inventory Support

· Maintain an organized and efficient warehouse and yard.

· Ensure materials have clearly designated storage locations.

· Support receiving, put-away, material movement, and job issuance.

· Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory.

· Report inventory discrepancies to the Yard Manager and Inventory/Purchasing team.

· Identify damaged, excess, obsolete, or slow-moving materials.

· Monitor critical materials and communicate potential shortages before they impact jobs.

· Ensure materials are properly labeled and stored.

· Maintain accurate records for fabricated gates, CNC posts, and other internally produced materials.

· Support accurate material allocation to jobs and crews.

· Minimize material loss, damage, waste, and unnecessary handling.

Primary objective: The right material is easy to find, accurately accounted for, and available when needed.

5. Job Staging & Crew Readiness Support

· Assist daily job staging activities.

· Review upcoming installation schedules and establish staging priorities.

· Ensure jobs are staged completely and accurately.

· Verify gates, CNC posts, fence materials, hardware, and other required materials are available.

· Coordinate shortages or discrepancies with the Yard Manager and Operations.

· Ensure crews can load efficiently and leave the yard on schedule.

· Minimize crew waiting time caused by yard, fabrication, or material issues.

· Maintain clearly identified staging areas.

· Establish consistent load-out and staging procedures.

Primary objective: Crews leave the yard on time with the right materials for the right job.

6. Yard Organization & Housekeeping

· Maintain a clean, organized, and professional yard.

· Ensure materials are stored safely and logically.

· Maintain designated areas for:

o Raw materials

o Finished inventory

o Gate fabrication

o Completed gates

o CNC production

o Completed CNC posts

o Job staging

o Returns

o Damaged materials

o Equipment

· Conduct daily housekeeping inspections.

· Ensure scrap and waste are removed appropriately.

· Identify opportunities to improve material flow and reduce unnecessary movement.

7. Team Supervision

· Directly supervise assigned warehouse, fabrication, CNC employees.

· Assign daily work and communicate priorities clearly.

· Monitor attendance, productivity, quality, and work practices.

· Coach employees when performance does not meet expectations.

· Recognize strong performance and reinforce Peerless values.

· Train and cross-train employees.

· Participate in hiring and onboarding as requested by Operations.

· Provide performance feedback to Operations.

· Lead by example through hands-on involvement and accountability.

 

Job Requirements:

-· 3+ years of experience in warehouse, manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or a related environment.

· 1–3+ years of supervisory or team-lead experience preferred.

· Experience with metal fabrication, welding, CNC, fence fabrication, or construction materials strongly preferred.

· Strong understanding of warehouse and material-handling practices.

· Strong commitment to workplace safety.

· Ability to read measurements, drawings, specifications, and work orders.

· Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and other yard equipment.

· Strong organizational and communication skills.

· Ability to prioritize multiple daily requirements.

· Basic computer and inventory-system skills.

· Ability to work effectively with both field crews and office personnel.

· Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

· Ability to bend, stoop, climb, and move throughout the yard.

· Ability to lift and move materials using proper equipment and techniques.

· Ability to work around forklifts, trucks, fabrication equipment, CNC equipment, and other industrial equipment.

· Must comply with required PPE and safety standards.

 

Licenses and Certification Requirements

-Valid driver’s license required with a clean driving record.
